What is the best way to get from the airport to my hotel, RPH? Looking for 4 people 2a 2c.
Thanks

I'm interested in the same information, but would like a service that includes a grocery stop. Thanks.

A cab might be the cheaper option for you since there are four of you. Looks like the average fare is around $50 (depending on traffic and not including tip) from the airport.

Mears shuttles are $30 (adult) and $24 (child) round trip per person, so that would be just a few dollars more expensive for the four of you.

Not sure what limo service would be, but sometimes you can score a good price and look like a high roller! :rotfl:

Why not use garden grocer and have it delivered?

Tiffany Towncars are $109 round trip to Universal Hotels on their website. They include a 30 minute grocery stop. A towncar will take up to 4 persons with 4 peices of luggage. They also have Vans and Limos if you need more room.
(And they have a $5 coupon on thier website!)

I wonder if carryons count against those 4 pieces? We will each probably have 1 suitcase and a schoolbag carryon.

You should be fine - we do the same.

we use mears private towncars and yes the shuttle bus is cheaper but you will have to wait until they fill the shuttle up before they take you to your hotel and in our case it happened to be a two hour wait to get to our hotel last year.
So we will never do the shuttle buses agian

You will be fine , we also use them every time we go on a cruise. Each of us has a carryon and our four pieces of luggage. You don't want to go to a van because then it gets to expensive. We priced that out and always go with the car.

We use Tiffany Towncar each trip to Florida and that includes DIsney ( we don't use ME at all) Never had an issue and we each have a suitcase and a carry on. 30 min grocery stop is included.

In past years I used Tiffany, too, but this last trip I used Legacy ($115) because they offer a free car seat or booster, whereas all the others charge more than the difference. Also the Tiffany cars were always dated, almost embarrassingly so, whereas Legacy had a modern, sleek one. Free pit stop, too.

edit: forgot to mention that Tiffany charged us for tolls outside of the rate but legacy did not. Be sure to ask that if you use a car company.

Well Tiffany did not charge us for tolls when we went to the port we were also given a free booster seat to use. Plus a free pit stop to the store on the way there. All the cars we got were sleek black towncars. The cost was the same as taking a round trip with the disney buses only we had no wait and it was just us. No going resort to resort.

This was just in January. :confused3

Beside the older cars may have bigger trunks to old the luggage better. I would not say they were that old either. Very clean too and very nice drivers never had a bad one and we have used them at least 10 times.

Maybe I had unscrupulous drivers a few times regarding tolls? They told me I had to pay cash for the tolls. Everyone has a different experience; that's why these boards are so great -- to get a vast variety of opinions.

Wow I hope you didn't pay the tolls. They have a thing in the car that beeps when they go though the tolls.

Glad your happy with your new car service. It is always scary not knowing what to expect when they pick you up.

I did, actually. I argued a bit the first time (after that I just accepted it) but once you're in the car, they have you. The toll pass didn't mean much as this was meant to be "reimbursement to the company" for tolls. This last time with the new company, I asked about tolls and they said it was all included. I even asked the driver before we got in and he said "it's included in the rate".

The other issue I had with Tiffany drivers (not that I'm trying to pile on here or make them look bad; just relating my experiences) was that each outbound driver would insist on the entire tip, assuring me they would be my return driver. Well, not once did I get the same guy. The first couple of times the return driver guilted me into double tipping (so he got something). Finally on one trip I told the return driver that I'd paid the first guy on his insistence and he'd have to go get his tip from him. After that, I only tipped half the tip each way. I got some obnoxious replies to that, but sure enough it was always a different return guy and at least each got their due. The Legacy guy said it would probably be him but to tip how I felt comfortable in case it was a different guy. It did end up being him on our return, though, so he got the whole thing eventually. (p.s. you guys know what I mean when I say "half the tip", right?)

WOw..I just used Tiffany in Jan of this year.I didn't have to pay tolls, they had a booster free of charge and included the 30 min grocery stop. The car was also brand new.I also was explicitly told to TIP EACH driver not all at once because they could not guarantee the same driver..Never in all my trips and I have used them over 15 times now have I had an issue.Sounds like you got an unscrupulous driver

I hope you complained though, I would have went nuts.We often get the same driver .I had the same driver the last 3 trips, so he knows us.

since the early 1990's, i have used private car service off and on.
since 2001, i only use them for 98% of my trips.

i did use Tiffany twice and had issues.

i moved on to a different car service after that.

there are plenty of companies to choose from in orlando.
