We are going to San Francisco and then to Hollywood and on to Disneyland. Any suggestions on airlines from SFO to Los Angeles. Also which airport - is Burbank an option? I see that is the closest to Hollywood?

Are you staying near Hollywood first, or staying near DL the whole time?

Burbank isn't usually recommended because traffic's awful. Well, it's awful everywhere, but I understand Burbank is especially bad.

There's four others: SNA (Orange County, aka John Wayne); LGB, Long Beach; ONT, Ontario; and LAX.

For DL, SNA (12 miles from DL) is the most convenient, but it is also usually the most expensive to fly into. LGB (15 miles) and LAX (35 miles) are cheapest, but more expensive for shuttles, etc. That won't matter if you're renting a car. Ontario (35 miles) is small and sometimes less expensive, but far away.

If cost doesn't matter, go SNA. If it does, check to see which is cheapest. LGB gets a lot of votes around here.

We always use LAX in LA and although we "hear" its so crowded, we've never had a problem with it. In fact, its seems like a small airport to me, easy to navigate, easy to get your luggage, easy to get a cab. They also split security into two sections- regular passengers and families, so we always ZIP right through the family line, even with our stroller and other bulky bags. Its such a short line! They also have more flights throughout the day, so easier to get the exact time you need, and compared to Burbank, I've noticed that at least half of Burbank's flights are not non-stop, they route you through 1-2 other places so it takes much longer.

I have never heard of LAX being called convenient! lol That being said it isn't always as bad as the rumors.

As far as flights: southwest usually runs great fairs from that area, but also try San jose or Oakland which are not too far away from San Fransico for better fares and flight times.
