What is the most cost effective way to get a family of four from the airport to Disney Property. Also, is one way faster that the other. I've heard stories of people riding for hours on a Mears bus dropping people off at other peroperties before going to Disney. Thanks
Mawe:rolleyes:

DW and I have had good experiences with Mears, and have had a bad experience with Mears. With a family of 4, you may want to consider using FL Tours. We (DW and DS's 6 and 4) used them over the New Year's holiday with good results.

Good luck!

Dave

My friend just back from WDW and she used a company called Murray Hill Transportation. They make a 1/2 hour stop (included in the price) to a grocery store and take your picture at the gates to WDW. She said they were very accommodating and the price was about the same as Mears. That is who we will be using for our shuttle service to WDW in Sept. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

we are going to use Happy Limo (recommended at Mousesavers.com).... decided if we used shuttle service, OUR resort would be the very last stop..i wanted to get there, not do 20 stops first! since this is our son's first time, we are splurging on a stretch limo (only using one-way since we have family joining us our last day and going back to family's house for rest of week). oh, you also need to know our son is a car freak..he loves cars. anyway, i'm making the ressie (which btw, Happy Limo guarantees lowest rates from competitors and gives complimentary grocery stop) and explained why only one way and such...then the guy i'm speaking with asks me: "would u like our driver to roll out the red carpet and VIP treatment?......at no extra charge of course!?" i was floored and jumped all over this! our sign is going to have HIS first name on it! can you do the mental image?? a 5 and 1/2 yo in denim shorts and tee shirt (w/ parents) getting into this limo with red carept treatment?? :rotfl: what an image!!

That sounds like a good time just from the airport shuttle service. Have a wonderful trip. I know you will enjoy your whole vacation with the best part at WDW.

Hi all. We used Happy Limo for our ride from MCO to Port Canaveral and we loved them!

We jusr planned a last minute vacation to WDW on 8/20/04 for myself and my DD 7. Since it is only the two of us, I planned on using DCL transfers, but now I am thinking twice.

On 8/20, we're arriving at 11PM-I would like to avoid resort hopping at this point! LOL
Where does the All Star Movies fall, regarding the DCL bus stops?

Opinions/advice happily accepted!! :teeth:

not sure of the question? are you staying at ASMo?

Sorry, bubba'smom.

We're arriving at MCO at 11pm and using Disney bus to ASM. I wanted to know if the bus makes alot of stops between MCO and ASM?

We are staying at ASM. It is late and if the ride is long, I may spring for a town car, instead.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Disney doesn't have resort buses at MCO. (my dh was shocked at this and kinda mad!) --they are only on Disney property to shuttle Disney resort guests to and from parks and such. anyway, the Mears shuttle service does the resort hopping since you are on the shuttle van with others. they just keep dropping off at everyone's stop. i have been told ASMo is about a 30 minute ride from MCO (and that's directly in private car--not on shuttle resort dropping off). we opted to 'just get there' as quick as we could (we knew we'd be the last stop  so, (for other reasons too) we opted for the private transportation. check prices of shuttles vs. private car. you may be surprised it's not too much extra to go private...especially after a long day of traveling!! good luck!

There are NO disney buses to the resorts, ASmo included.

We just used Happy Limo to/from ASmo in July and loved them. Direct transport will get you to the resort the fastest. A shuttle like MEARS will be the "slow boat to China" route with ASmo safetly being one of the last if not the last stop, simply because of location.
My advice is to get a towncar so you're not still en route 2 hours later!:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

thanks-- we KNEW if we went 'shuttle' we'd be the last stop! travel enough and just "know" your luck!! we are getting ds (5 1/2) a stretch limo....cannot wait to see the look on his face!!!! :earseek: (he is a car freak!!)

Thank you for all the info. I think we are going to go with a towncar or limo. I have a question on when or where do we book a car. Do we book it ahead of time or do we just call them from the airport? One more thing. Does anyone know approx. what this cost?
Thanks Again
MAwe

i would call and reserve car in advance and then a follow up call just before you leave (to confirm). you can try any of the services....some popular ones on this forum are Happy Limo, Tiffany Towncar Service and they mention others at www.all-ears.net and www.mousesavers.com .....or, check the price at FL Tours (above). we are using Happy Limo as i have heard/read a lot of good positive things about them! congrats on the town car service....i'd probably have gone that way too!!:p and, have a good time!!!

You should always book ahead of time so you are assured that there will be someone from the limo service to meet you at your destination and a car available to take you back to your starting point at the time you need. I just called and booked my service with Murray Hill Transportation for 9/7. They were the cheapest and my friend just used them and she said they were great. They quoted me a price for (what they call a 3 leg) from the MCO to Hampton Inn, Universal, from Hampton to CS, CS to MCO for only $105.00. That was $25.00 cheaper than other companies without a coupon.

Good Luck with your search for a limo service.

if one chooses to use the mears shuttle from MCO does anyone know the resorts route. What's is the 1st stop and so on

i don't know...but, i'm guessing the further you are from mco, the latter the stop....
hopefully someone who has used can help.....
good luck!!:teeth:
