Airport shuttle service recommendations

This may be slightly off topic, as it is not directly DLP related, but we are spending a few days in Paris before our arrival at DLP. We are arriving at CDG, and staying at a hotel in LaDefense in the near suburbs. Since this is our first trip to Paris, we don't feel ready to tackle the RER/Metro with luggage upon arrival. The Air France shuttle doesn't go out to LaDefense. And we'd like to get to our hotel as quickly and easily as possible but without paying a huge fortune.

We have gotten mixed advice on other travel boards regarding a taxi--some say they will take us the "Long route" and the fare could range anywhere from 50 - 75 Euros or more, depending on traffic. (We will be coming in on a Saturday morning in August if that makes a difference.)

We have also had some recommendations to use an airport shuttle service, as the price is fixed. But some say that the service may not show up, may take much longer to arrive, and require pre-payment (which may be lost if they don't show up.) We got quotes from RS Shuttle for private service for (65 Euros) and quotes for shared service from Airport Connections (47 Euros) and Paris Airport Sercie (40 Euros).

Has anyone had any experience with any of these companies? Or any other airport shuttle services that might serve the suburbs? I really have gotten tremendous help in planning my trip from this board, and I trust your advice.

We have gotten a few good reports on RS Shuttle for our return trip to CDG from DLP, so we will probably go with that. It's the arrival that is causing me major worry.

Well, my experience on this matter is absoultely zero.

However, I too trust these boards and have been reading them relentlessly for about 18 months preparing for my Paris trip. RS Transports consistently gets high praise and great reviews. The couple of times that there has been a driver late, it was resolved quickly by a phone call to the home office. No one (that I 've read about) has been stranded or taken on a long ride.

If you are planning to use RS anyway to get from DLP to CDG, they may offer you a discount on a second leg of your journey. You have the option to "pre pay" or pay as you go. The cost is fixed and you know up front what it is going to be (also, you could ask RS to quote you for a "shared" service and it may be cheaper and less likely you would actually have to share).

So, as an uneducated opinion, I would say that RS offers a lot in the "piece of mind" department (I am still debating if I feel brave enough to handle the RER/Metro with luggage as a first timer, darn stubborn streak in me but ultimately will probably end up booking with RS)

Joan, if it were me I think I would feel happier booking a shuttle service. There's a couple more shuttle firms mentioned in The Very Useful Info Sticky. I'm sure someone on here used Always Shuttle satisfactorily.

We used BS Transports last trip and are using them again next month. I was very reassured by the fact that we could pay the driver so no worries of losing cash if he didn't show.

As a sidenote, does anyone know ~ are BS Transports and RS Transports sister companies?? Their websites look very similar but I see the contact details are different.

When we were there, I asked our RS driver about this and I think he said that RS bought BS but maybe some of it got lost in translation.

What I can say is when we return in January we will be booking them for both ways. Driver was good, their only mistake was that we needed 2 child seats and he only had one but a phone call and 10 minutes and we were away.
