Well, we were going to fly into SNA, or LAX, but it looks like I can save a lot of money by flying into Ontario. How far is Ontario airport from anaheim? And what shuttle can we take from there? I am going to book airfare today, so any quick advice is helpful!!! Thanks!!!!;)

now I have found that I can save about $30.00 more if we fly into Burbank rather than Ontario! Not worth it if Burbank is much further, or more of a hassle than Ontario. I have only used SNA up until now, so any info on either Ont or Bur is needed!! TIA!!

Scanmom, where are you coming from?

I have heard that Burbank is really a nightmare and a hassle, traffic-wise. Most vets on this board advise against Burbank.

Ontario is about 30 miles away, about the same or farther than LAX, and apparently kind of a bummer also as far as transportation hassles.

Have you tried Long Beach? It's often the cheapest, and it's the next closest to SNA.

Here's my little airport blurb from my own information notes:

Airfare and airports
Start checking your airfare as far in advance as possible. There are four possible airports to fly into, and they all have pros and cons.

LAX, approx. 35 miles away: pros, often the cheapest and has the most flights and times available, Disney Resort Express bus runs on a frequent and convenient schedule. Cons, can be expensive for ground transportation because it’s the farthest away; it’s your typical huge, dirty, loud international airport.

ONT, Ontario: approx. 30 miles away: pros, often fairly cheap to fly into, not as big. Cons, ground transportation can be pretty expensive since it’s quite a distance

SNA (also known as Orange County or John Wayne airport) approx 12 miles away: pros, the closest airport, small, yet very nice and convenient. Disneyland Express also runs here, and shuttles run just $8-10 per person. Cons: it’s usually the MOST expensive of all the airports. Don’t know why, but it costs us over $100 or more extra, per person, to fly into SNA.

LGB, Long Beach, approx 14 miles way: the choice of many. It is a small, clean, quaint airport (you deplane down stairs onto the tarmac!) and nearly as close as SNA; yet it can cost considerably less to fly into. Cons: Not as many flight time choices; ground transportation can cost more here; Super shuttle is 3x as much for some reason, although a taxi will cost you the same as from SNA ($40 flat fee one way). Disneyland Express doesn’t operate from here.

Hope that helps!

Well, I can tell you that Ontario is about 45 to an hour in good traffic. We use to live near there and drive to visit my grandparents in Anaheim. Bad traffic is a whole other story.

we have to fly SWA, since I have $575.00 credit with them. I also have plenty of miles, and a free ticket voucher with United, but can't get availability on the dates I need. This is a last minute trip for me and DS 14, we want to travel either Nov 22-25 or Nov 23-26th. I know, it is a holiday week! I can get flights on United for the 22nd, but the 25th and 26th are unavailable, I even had them check alternate airports at each end. I want to fly from Tulsa, but can fly from Oklahoma City, or Ft. Smith Ar. if I need to. Thanks for the help!
