Airport screening

Is it safe to send my digital camera, memory cards, and Ipod through the screener?

100%. The scanners have ZERO effect on these items. The concern is for actual film - which could/can be damaged by the process.

Film is the main concern with the checked baggage machines. Your camera and other things would be safe going through there, however with items of any value it is best to take them with you as a carry on, and your equipement will be safe there too.

My camera goes in my purse and never EVER leaves my site.
