Airport options for VB

First things first... Happy New Year to all! We are planning our first trip as DVC members to Vero for a few days (March1-March 6). We are flying out of Philly and are wondering what the airport options are. Orlando, Melbourne, or any others you might have had experience with flying from our neck of the woods? Thanks for any help.

West Palm Beach is also a good option for Vero.

I'd say the three mentioned are your best options.
However, One christmas while I was working in St. Lucie Fla., I had my wife and son join me for 13 days. The best priced flight I could get because of the holiday was out of Harrisburg and into Jacksonville. That drive was a pain since I was on a 7day/12hour shift, but she drove back to St. Lucie while I slept.
The funny thing is that I knew the job would end while they were down and at the end of our trip, I took them bact to Jacksonville for their flight home, then headed up I95 myself. They got laid over in Atlanta and if I hadn't stopped to sleep during the drive home, I'd have beat them home.....spruce

Hi-
We took a birthday weekend trip to VB last June for my birthday, just hubby and I; no kids.
Anyway...... we flew from Islip (Long Island, NY) to Orlando, rented a Dodge Neon for really cheap, and drove to VB, it took less than 1 1/2 Hours. WE got a really good price for the flight to Orlando also.

I have driven to Vero Beach after staying at OKW. Drive took me about 1 1/2 hrs. I guess. Flew in and out of Orlando. On the 17th of this month, I am flying into Melbourne because I am going *only* to Vero Beach. The airport seems to be very small, by all accounts, and I am looking forward to that. The airport is about 45 minutes from Vero, I am told, and I am sure that getting the rental car will take less time than getting one at MCO. The airline tickets were about the same price flying into either MCO or Melbourne for this trip, so I chose the smaller, closer airport.
