Have you thought about using your Tesco Clubcard tokens to book the Hilton? That is what we always used to do as it is so expensive otherwise.

The alternative, as already mentioned, is to consider staying at the Premier Inn. It really is incredibly convenient, literally across the road from the entrance to the North Terminal. You just then catch the monorail over to the South Terminal the next morning. Having always stayed at the Hilton, my daughter and I stayed there last March and loved it. The hotel was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful.

We were waiting for the Hilton clubcard deal to be released, but found a good price at Premier Inn North Terminal inc parking for £133.01, we have stayed there before and the parking is Valet opposite the hotel (I know you said you would travel by train, but just for info). The transfer to South Terminal is also just outside the hotel. The staff were very helpful and we had no noise issues even though they do warn you about noise.

We also took the meal deal last time with evening meal and cooked breakfast, both were very good and if pre booked were very reasonably priced.

Yes it is very clearly signposted. Once off the monorail it's literally out of the main door and hotel is in front of you. We usually fly from the south terminal but last 2 trips have used Premier Inn as it a much better price

I've been monitoring premier inn's prices for some time after some nice folks on here advised that a room was not worth more than £40/night

looks like theyr release the discounted rates 3 months out
it's non refundable, non changeable and pay now , but at £39/night that leaves some money for food

Premier inn website. Its the saver rate( non changeable)

it's on the premierinn website, but as mentionned it only comes out 3 months out
so you're going in november, those rates won't be available before september 2015

just check a dummy booking for dates in 2 or 3 months you should see that saver rate for those dates
there is no hurry booking an airport hotrel room now for november anyway

so happy did what you said and looked a few months out to see what the saver rate is and i could book two double rooms for £58 for both
i know that might not be the price i actually pay for Nov but at least i now know how to book a saver room and have a ball park figure, so thank you for that great money saving bit of info chmurf, will definitely be staying at Premier Inn
