Leaving from Calgary 8:50 am, on a wed morning , will check in 24hrs prior, no checked luggage and no kids, do we really need to be at airport 3 hrs prior or is 2hrs ok?:confused3

2 hours is fine. But if you are going magic express and they (Disney) know you have a Canadian destination, they will calculate the 3 hour time into your departure. That is why, I never give them (Disney) my final destination. I always give my stopover as my final destination

no magical express! Staying offsite, Thanks you just saved me an extra hour of sleep!:cool1:

I think the OP was talking about flying to MCO if that's the case you should leave time to clear US customs in Calgary before your flight. Anywhere between 2 and 3 hours you should be fine, in case US customs decides to play "games" and not have enough poel on the desks. I wouldn't arrive anywhere less than 2 hours just incase something happens either with customs or security.

Yes....that's the way I read it. OP is flying out of Calgary into MCO.

Personally, I prefer to be at the airport too early than to have the stress of a long line or something that could delay me and make me miss my flight. I would plan to be at the Calgary airport closer to the 3hr prior to flight time mark. I think 2hrs cuts it too close...morning is a very, very busy time.

Calgary YYC does have a morning rush at security, even for US pre-clearance. I usually arrive two hours prior to departure, and check-in is efficient (less than 20 minutes). But it has taken 45+ minutes to get through security. That doesn't leave much time to grab breakfast or take kiddo to the bathroom. If you can arrive earlier, it may reduce stress and family tension.
