Hi there! I am traveling in TEN days and I am so excited. Traveling with my husband, our daughter and another couple. I just spent a few hours putting together BOOKS for the plane. These books consist of OUR ITINERARY, PARK HOURS, MENUS of the restaurants we are eating in, SNACK options on the dining plan, Walt's biography, 3 articles from Disney Insider, A BUNCH of DISNEY TRIVIA and an article about behind the scenes to give everyone alittle inside info. SO FUN.....I printed them in color with lots of clip art etc. Hope my unenthusiastic group LOVES THEM as much as me. I never have much to read on the plane and hate spending $50.00 at the airport on magazines. Any other ideas on stuff to add to my BOOKS????

How cool!
Does your group have any special interests? say animals, you could add some facts on the AK, ie the animals they might see on the KS or about Florida animals, in general--say, like what is a crocodile, what is an alligator; or the many different Florida birds seen everywhere at WDW

Will you be going off site? or even if you aren't you might want to include some Florida/Orlando/Kissimmee facts--population, rate of pop. growth; other attractions~

Maybe menus from your first 2 or 3 restaurants?
A brief how-to on pin trading?

If you have an Ipod, you could record some in the park music or favorite songs from Disney movies

You are so thoughtful! Hoping your crew catches the Magic! some folks just take a little longer or actually have to be in the parks! As for me, I know if I got a look at your books, I'd be even more giddy!

That is a great idea I just decided to throw the 10 day weather report in when it comes up too. I actually printed ALL the menus of the places we are eating at....these books are getting BIG. I LOVE THEM! I also just added NEXT VACATION WISHES/IDEAS....DISNEY CRUISE :cool1: My husband is not going to like that idea very much we are supposed to be taking a year off from Disney to go somewhere different GRRRR!

KEEP THE IDEAS COMING...remember these books are for adults!

How lucky are they all. Very nice thing to do.

We generally have to keep our daughter busy she is the only one of us out of 5 that is not a very good flyer.

I have nothing really to add but have a magical time and thank you because I am taking notes for future trips with others who come down and stay with us. I just think it is a great idea.

Your so kind to say its a good idea I thought so too...I added some word searches too :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

NEED MORE IDEAS!!!

I don't know if you saw this site or not but I'll link it to you anyways. (http://www.mouseforless.com/downloads/tripdownloads.shtml) Its what I used for puzzles, trivia ect. I also printed out some pictures and brought new crayons along on my last trip because my mom, sis and I enjoy coloring still.(Hey, we're young at heart.) For this trip I've started making up lists of little tips of things to see and do at the parks that you might not always notice. (My bf hasn't seen a majoritiy of these things to they're new to him.) They include things like: At the Haunted Masion don't forget to stop another 30 feet down the sidewalk and visit the pet cemetary. Most people just walk right on by.

The lists are works in progress but I'm happy to share.

Oh my gosh! Sorry I don't have any ideas but just wanted to say you are sooo nice for doing that! I'm sure they books will be thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated! Can I come along?! :) it sounds like you are a fun and thoughtful person to travel with!! Have a great time!!

OH I love someone thinking I am fun! :thumbsup2 I mean I am fun but I am not so sure the others are feeling the MAGIC just yet.....I have put together WELCOME bags as well....with some fun stuff that I will mail out next week so they are at the hotel. I included GUM, ICY HOT for the feet at night, Tylenol, snacks, ponchos, umbrella hats (more just as a joke), all kinds of candy, lint brush, wrinkle release spray, crystal light singles, and alot more these bags are NOT LITTLE :Pinkbounc That link was AWESOME...I printed out the JOURNAL PAGES so I can atleast do a trip report I doubt anyone else will write but YA NEVER KNOW.....

MORE IDEAS, I NEED MORE IDEAS....have I mentioned how much I LOVE THESE BOARDS!

Okay I'm back. I'm making a book for my bf for this trip but have no new ideas for you. But when I went on my trip with my family in December I made bags up for them to take on the plane, here's a list of what I included and maybe it will inspire you.

mini mickey mouse playing cards(target had them in their dollar store at the time.)
$5 in disney dollars
mini m&ms
quarters & pennies for the presses
gum(for the plane)
a pin (got these for like $2 from ebay. a princess one for my sister, stitch for my brother. my sister got into pin trading so she loved having one to start her off. my brother never got into it but love the pin anyways)
a disney pen (from the disney store)
those face clothes that come in a square and when you wet them they unfold(also from the disney store)
I printed off the word searches, trivia, coloring pages and a list of hidden gems(my brother loved the hidden gems!)

when I bought the stuff from the disney store I asked them to give me two extra bags. the lady at the counter started talking to me about why I was getting extra bags and she was so excited for me. she gave me a buzz light year bag for my brother and princess for my sister. Thought I'd share in case anything inspired you. When I finish my huge list of things to see at the parks I will upload them here in case you want to use them. Each one has some disney smiles and clip art on it!

OH AWESOME please do send that list along I would love to look at it :thumbsup2 you can also PM me and I will give you my email to send the list along as an attachement

THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION I am all excited about the bags and the books! :woohoo:

I'm working on cleaning up my lists a little bit right now and making them easier to read. I realized that I like six things about one area all spread out. It should take me a little while and then I'll send you a pm.

Another thought for your books is a list of characters and the places you can meet them. I know one of the websites has a printable excel sheet. It's great if you know you want to see a certain character because then you can find out what locations they normal make appearences at.

It sounds like we had basically the same idea. I started compiling my Disney "book" months ago. It's about 55 pages long at this point. It consists of essential trip info like flight numbers, resort contact telephone and address and daily itinerary including ADR #s. That much I will make extra copies and give to my folks back home, so they have some idea of where I will be during my trip. But the rest is all filler material, mostly articles I found over the past 3 months that are interesting and Disney related. I will also include the menus for all the restaurants that I have ADRs for, but that will be a companion volume to the actual "Triptik." I am also going to put in the 10 day forecast when it is available, which actually won't be until the day I leave, since I'm gone for 10 days :woohoo:

My plan was to print it all out in color and get it bound into an actual book at Kinkos. But, I may just scrap that idea and put it into a three ring binder. That's just easier.

What a great idea! You are so creative! My DH would think I was REALLY obsessed if I put together books for everyone on the trip  ! More power to you! Hope everyone enjoys them! I don't have any ideas really, just wanted to say what an awesome thing that is!! :thumbsup2

Well I finished editing my lists of little things to notice while in the world. For those that might be interested it has facts like this...

MGM
In the pre-show Muppet 3D room at MGM there is a net full of green jello hanging from the ceiling. It signifies Annette Funicello.

MK
In queue area for Big Thunder, look for crate that says "Lytum & Hyde Explosives Company"

Epcot
Visit Miyuki, the candy sculptress in Japan. I think a lot of people don't seek her out because the map doesn't really explain what she is; she sculpts soft taffy into animals and paints it.

You all get the idea. They are just little facts that I got from threads here and from other websites. I'm also working on ones for Dinning hidden gems, MNSSHP tips/gems and Resorts gems(for those of us who travel to other resorts to eat or do things.) I'm happy to share with all who want them. I figure I put this much time into them I might as well share.
