Airplane flight of terror!

I thought I would post an update, it’s been a month since the event...

They did a brain MRI and a EEG and both came back normal which is a good thing. As of right now they are just saying it was a onetime incident probably brought on by exhaustion, time change, or over stimulation. We will continue to monitor him no swimming alone, or taking a bath… I guess the next air plane flight will be a tense one, but neither DR things the airplane has anything to do with it, they are saying it was because he was sleeping.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers…

We still have not received the bills form all of this so I have not yet submitted anything to Disney Travel insurance, I will post back with a resolution on that end.

Check into a sleep study for nocturnal seizures. A friend had both of her sons affected by this. Never had a waking seizure, they all happened at night if the woke suddenly or had an active dream. there was no way to know when they would or wouldn't have one because they often slept right through them or would just wake up feeling sick or tired. They only figured it out because one kept falling out of bed during the seizures.

So glad to hear everything is ok! If it makes you feel better I had a seizure once when I was 13. Had an EEG, blood work, everything and it was all normal. Looking back I think it may have been because I was severely sunburned and probably dehydrated too from the day before so hopefully your DS will have the same outcome! :goodvibes

and, too, am glad it turned out to be "nothing". Do continue to monitor him, although with a normal EEG, its unlikely to be epilepsy. You can have abnormal EEGS and still not have epilepsy (DH!!) but not the other way around (DS!!).

Praise God your son is okay. I am sorry you had to go through that. I am also glad that there were doctors on the flight. My heart and prayers are with your family for this to NEVER happen again.

Thought I would post an update on the reimbursement from Travel Guard aka the Disney Trip insurance. Travel Guard paid my out of pocket expenses promptly after I had submitted all the required paper work. It was really an easy process to deal with.

DS is doing fine, again as if nothing had happened.... I guess the next airplane flight will be keeping us on eggshells...

Thought I would update this in case any one else is wondering about the trip insurance and paying our claims.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts.
