Airmiles ticket--what happens with docs etc?

This is the first time I've flown with Airmiles. I got a conf # and a link to the electronic itinerary. But I can't access my reservation via Air Canada's website, and I have no paper. Does anyone know, will I get the email to check in online from AC when the time comes? (We have seats,but they suck! ;-) ) And what should I take to the airport, just that number from Airmiles? Or will someone mail me something at some point? Aeroplan gave us an itinerary/eticket we could use when we booked through their points in the past, and from that point we just followed the AC system.

The confirmation number that Airmiles gave you is an Air Miles confirmation number, not an Air Canada confirmation number, which is why it doesn't pull up anything on the Air Canada site.

If you call Airmiles they *should* be able to give you an Air Canada confirmation number (I've never used Airmiles, so I cannot guarantee this). Or, if you have an Aeroplan number attached to your reservation (and flight details), try calling Air Canada and see if they can pull up the file (and give you your Air Canada confirmation number).

Once you get this, you should be able to chance your seats now (better selection than if you have to wait until the 24hr mark).

Thanks, yes, I got the AC number and we're there...I'll see if I can do seat changes. On hold now making sure my connections are legal, as the websites are giving me a hard time about the routing...
