I hope everyone has been enjoying the first long weekend of the summer. I have worked my behind off. I removed my old boxwood shrubs and planted new ones. Over the last few years I had to cut out a fair amount of winter kill to the point that not much was left. I didn’t fully realize how bad they looked until I got the new ones planted. Spent two days installing the planter boxes I built last weekend. Today was spent cutting down a tree stump and removing some carpet junipers that have come to the end of their life. Parts still looked nice and green but most of it had seen better days. There is still some clean up to do and I have to dismantle the old planter boxes. Next week I will try and level off the stump and build a planter box to sit on top of it.

I spent my day today inside defrosting the freezer. It really needed it.
Next weekend I will work on the garden as our leaf bag day isn't until next Tuesday. We too need to cut down some trees. The evergreen in the backyard is pressing on the fence so the neighbour has commented once or twice. And we will be cutting down the apple trees (sad) as they are tilting and in the fall the dog wants to eat all the fallen apples (not good for her)

Here’s a fun one…
Submitted last weeks grocery receipt and I bought 1 bottle of ketchup but was credited for 3. So 9 miles. They missed my cucumber but since I came out ahead, not going to rock the boat with an inquiry.

I was pretty much on empty today, and the best deal for me was at ESSO, so of course I came home to see this in my inbox It doesn't really matter because I couldn't wait to get gas, so I'll take the PC points win, I guess.

Frederick was thirsty today as well but I knew the Shell offer would pop up soon, it's always the last few days of the month. Hubby put $5 in and that should hold us until Monday. We didn't get a full fill-up once in the entire month of May, i think perhaps we need to get a life!!

Terms for the offer are same as usual:
opt- in before may 26th
1 mile/ litre of fuel (doesn't matter which type)
1 mile/ dollar spent in store and/or car wash
Maximum of 100 miles per card
it says one fuel and one in store/ car wash as part of one visit. Not sure how other people handle it but I've always done this:
Pull up to a pump that requires indoor authorization (can't be seen clearly from inside), go in and grab whatever I'll be buying (frozen M & M food for hubby), pre-authorize the pump for $100 (which is a joke for our car but I don't want to miss out) and pay for the things I've grabbed. I still show my CAA and airmiles cards to get the discount at the pump.
fill-up the car and take the actual receipt from the pump.

Check the Shell app, it's there as well. I saw it there first
