Airmiles Armchair Chatter

I am still not sure about the Pharmasave Offer being available in Ontario.
If this was their big *We are here* in Ontario promo it's a failure.
I tried to get an answer from CHAT but somehow I just don't trust what she said.

Sorry gang it might be trial and error on this one.

C- No problem at all. Yes, there are definitely Pharmasave locations in Ontario. If you can hold for a moment I'll just have a quick look at the offer details.

C- Thanks for holding. I've taken a look at the Pharmasave Flash offer and it is available to all Collectors across Canada.

C- For this offer the it is available to all Collectors across Canada, except Quebec.

Could the T&C people express that info a bit differently as it is confusing many Airmiles members?
thanks

I went to the Pharmasave by my house the last week of August. Offers were up on the AM site but the guy in the store said they would be starting in September. Side note…it’s literally a walk in clinic med counter with 2 shelves of random stuff and VERY expensive, $7 for a bottle of 16 Motrin. Disappointing to find out it was a no go but also to see what they had in there. I have no idea how I could ever make that work. Even if there is an item you actually need at that time the added cost will be hard to justify.
That's so strange. All of the Pharmasaves I've seen are just regular drug stores...but they're franchises so perhaps look for a different one.

Apparently the pharmacy beside my doctor's office is a Pharmasave, I know they sell some things there that are probably high prices, but for $10 spend I'll get the 100 AM bonus and it'll count as one offer for the Shop the Block, so "free" sort of lol. I'll do it for these types of offers but not on a regular basis. It's no Rexall after all lol

Same for me…I guess a couple boxes of band aids or something

I my area ( Mississauga) the 3 Pharmasave , I have been to seem to be Compound mixing Pharmacies.
They had very little extra that a regular pharmacy like Rexall ,Shoppers drug mart ,would sell.
For $10.00 I'll give it a shot and look for something.

I checked ours that is close by and it is basically a dispensing counter. I am sure I can find something for $10 for the 100 offer that I need.

I’m pretty sure we live in the same town. Are you meaning the one at Dundas/Neyagawa?

The other one I mentioned is UpperMid/3rd line

Never mind I found my answer;
Nope

***Miles earned through AIR MILES Receipts and AIR MILES Travel will each count as 1 partner total, regardless of the number of scanned receipts or bookings.***

So just wondering
If I got 5 receipt offers at say
Metro
Sobeys
No Frills
Real Canadian
Fresh Co
Is that 5 different Partners?

After reading it a few more times, I think they mean that prescriptions and anything that the pharmacist does for you do not count unless you live in Manitoba, Sask. or NS.

Subsitute Dollarama for Irving and I'm doing those same partners as well for this one. I might only do it on DH card as I'm trying to get him to ONYX. We are away for one week of the promotion so that will slow things up a bit.

Opinions please....I'm trying to think this through. I need to get my flights booked for the cruise and I'm not getting any help from DH.

I can fly either Thurs night after work or any time on the Friday but would prefer early morning to have some useable time that day. Here are my options...

1. Porter...Friday morning 10am arriving MCO at 1pm coming home the day we get off the ship at 8:30pm.
Airmiles (after the bonus is awarded) 5434 and $357. This is the Flex level to include checked bags.

2. AC...Thursday night at 5:40pm arriving at 8:30pm and coming home the day we get off the ship at 10:15pm.
Airmiles (after bonus) 4480 and $453. I get free checked bags with AC but might want to pay for seat selection.

3. AC...Friday morning at 7am arriving at 10am and coming home the day AFTER we get off the ship at 8am.
Airmiles (after bonus) 5420 and $448. Again, free bags and might pay for seat selection.

I feel like option 2 is the best in terms of timing but is it worth the extra cash over Porter? But is Porter worth losing 3/4 of the day? I have some other options for AC but one is 6220 AM and the other is 4480 but the fee is $501, which I don't understand.

AND....I swear AM has intentionally set all the miles at just below the redemption levels. All my options were 2440/person or 3800/person. Why Air Miles, why? Is this my punishment for procrastinating and not buying when the cash price was $250/person?

If you fly down Thursday night you also need to pay for a room for the night...that being said I would always rather wake up where I want to be than have a day of travel ahead of me. What are you going to do Thursday night anyways? Pack all over again?

Also leaving from vacation early in the morning just messes up the night before ie. you can't have fun on your last day.

Sorry...neither of these answers has anything to do with the # of miles or cash. Flight prices fluctuate...if you feel like it's too much, wait or just pay cash. I just think option 2 is the best all around, and whether you spend more cash or more miles you it's about the same. Miles are the same as cash.

It's not too early to think about Xmas presents and stocking stuffers...just saying.

Our Pharmasave has everything but I really don't need anything right now
LOL...my girls are adults. We stopped stockings a few years ago and in terms of presents it's things like snow tires or concert tickets.

I was typing and talking and hdrolfe beat me to the punch.

Something else to add in to your analysis. If you go Thursday you will have an extra hotel night to add to the mix unless you have someone to stay with.

Flight options 1 and 2 are virtually the same price when you convert the AM to cash (5434/95*10+357) vs (4480/95*10+448)

I will be covering hotels with AM. I agree with waking up at destination and having the full day. Most likely I will work Thursday right up until going to the airport. I actually don't see us doing much on that last day, maybe some shopping or maybe one of DD's friends will get us into one of the parks. To some degree I hate the homeless feeling of not having a hotel all day when we fly home late.

We are traveling American Thanksgiving weekend so I don't see prices dropping again. I think I've already missed it.
