I was looking at "entertainment" to see how much it would be for Wonderland or La Ronde tickets this summer, and saw they have Costco Memberships for dream miles. So I've switched to 50/50 cash/dream. I haven't belonged to Costco in a decade or so I think, but keep seeing things you can get there you can't get elsewhere. I would be worried about getting too much at once and overspending, that is the reason I stopped going to be honest. We'll see I guess.

I'm sorry that you ran into this with the gift cards Mel. I've stopped trying to buy any because i can't find a store that takes any form of payment other than cash and we don't have much around!

The picture of the card you bought would appear to be an acceptable one but I guess the little pieces of confetti and the wording being off to the right instead of dead centre is enough to have a different barcode 🤷 i remember running into trouble with this when sobeys often had gift cards as offers - they had special cards within the downtown core of Toronto with the Bluejays symbol on it and they didn't trigger the offer. Extremely frustrating when the ability to earn miles keeps dwindling.

ETA looking at the 2nd picture you added and it's still different from the ones within both shell and airmiles app. Urgh

So I am MAD
It is not just the 40 cents I am out but the double talk ,,uninformed, rude people that don't have the knowledge to do their jobs that is very wrong.

The person I spoke to yesterday had an attitude and was uninformed,,,,, was well her typical response was wait 4 months and submit a missing miles report. ...

If Scene+ and PC and Be Well can post their points within 24 hrs then this makes Airmiles look very bad.

They also offer much better client service people with true resolution solutions.

Airmiles offers no recourse to their disputes other than *Office of the President* which if you have ever dealt with them is an absolute joke.

I just got my new phone all set up to do some scans and now I think I am finished with Airmiles.

I'm just continuing to collect until they bring the switch your Dream to Cash (or vis versa). Then I'll be buying a lot of gas (can't do groceries anymore (July 19) when Metro leaves). I'll put the funds into my travel bank and call it a day with the program. It's just not fun anymore.

I recently got my first pair of Hoka's and am really liking them. I have arthritis in one foot and generally weak knees. These are the most comfortable sneaker/running shoe I have worn in years. I got the Cliffton L and I ordered direct from Hoka's website.

Our kids have been raving about Hoka's for a couple of years and glad I tried them.
I bought my first pair of Hoka’s about a year ago - the Hoka Bondi 8 as I saw lots of recommendations for them for good arch support. They’ve been great! They’re about a year old and I am just now looking to replace them and I wear them almost every day. I am also prone to plantar fasciitis and have had no issues with these. Any other shoes I have tried are only comfy for 3-6 months then my feet start hurting again.
I have the Cliffton 9., chose them because they were slightly less clunky looking. I tried on the Bondi and just couldn't deal with how wide they look. Feel wise I thought they were pretty much the same.

Well, I wore them all day at work. They are such a weird feeling...light but clunky and of course I had to get white ones that just scream NEW. I can't say that my feet or back feel any better than my other shoes. It was only the first day I had them on and they probably need some breaking in and maybe my body needs to adjust to a new shoe. I put my insoles in them and it really felt like the arch was too high. It felt a little like a burning sensation. My last hour I took them out and tried just the shoes. It was slightly better on my feet but the shoes were rubbing on my ankle bone. So that was weird. Shortly after I took them out I felt a really sharp pain in the PF foot which was a little scary. I'm so worried that it will get worse. Normally I would never wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row but tomorrow I will try them with the Hoka insole out and just my rigid ones in. I tell you... I'm so fed up with feeling this way. It's to the point now that I just don't want to do anything because there is going to be pain. I'm worried about going to WDW in a few weeks. :worried:

I had never heard of Hoka shoes before reading about them in this forum. I though, hmmm, I must look into those. Never said the word out loud. Never typed it. Just thought about looking into them.
Since I read about them on here this afternoon, I have had three ads show up for them. Targeted ads. How in Heavens name does it do that??? As I say, I only read the few posts on here about them but somehow, they know. Twilight Zone stuff.

in 2023 i wore a pair of Hokas that were pink-ish and even had hidden mickey heads, that were great for my feet, super comfy and easy to walk in for hours. Cut to this year when I developed Fat Pad Syndrome and it felt like I was walking on broken glass embedded in hot pavement. Went the route of custom orthotics which only seemed to let me walk for about 30 minutes before I wanted to scream. Enter the blessing that is the new pair of shoes that I got before this year's trip : new balance Foam X Trail More v3 hiking shoes. They are A-MAZ-ING, feels like I'm walking around with pillows strapped to my feet. They're rocker bottom type so it keeps me from staying on my heels too much which is perfect. They might look ridiculous but I do not care! I added some elastic laces so I can slip in and out of them easily and I wear an old pair of sketchers in the house instead of slippers. Getting old SUCKS

Side note, the staff at the clinic that was trying to help get my orthotics to the point they would help before our trip showed me these shoes and said for my problems there is no breaking in period with shoes, I should put them on and know instantly if they are good or not. If they don't feel comfortable as soon as I stand up and take a few steps they never will.

That’s pretty much why I bought the Hokas. I was fed up with having shoes only be comfy for a few months then sore feet again. I did have to get used to the wide clunky look of the Bondi 8 but they are so light. They are $200 and I never see them on sale so I am really glad they worked and lasted.

Since I bought the shoes all the ads have been for Hokas…and they all include the actual ones I have. This page…the ads across the bottom and down the side are Hoka.

@Donald - my hero I don’t think those shoes are that bad. I like the colours. I wish I had known before I bought the Hokas. If this week doesn’t go well with these shoes I might go and try those ones.

I’ve been almost exclusively been wearing Nikes for years. Right now I easily have 15 pair. The last few years I’ve been wearing the Epic React ones and they are so comfy. Even now I put on the oldest pair and they still feel good. I have them 4 different colours. I stick to shoes for running as they provide more cushion and stability. I do have a few pair, including some adidas that are not athletic shoes.

I am so tired of not being able to wear nice shoes and having to dress down to accommodate the shoes.

I wouldn't have known which card was the "original" let alone understood the fineprint. Very misleading.

Another good Air Miles Receipts score in Ontario in case anyone wants to run out this evening before the sales and offers turn over!

Metro's digital special is a box of frozen eggs waffles for 99 cents. Need to make sure the offer is loaded on the app.

And the Air Miles Receipts offer is 9 Air Miles for a box of frozen waffles.

So it "costs" 9 cents using Air Miles math. :)

So today's Hoka adventure was not any better. I think it's possible that they are a half size too big. Initially I just though the toe area was made to be roomy. DD just looked at them and agrees that maybe they are too big. She thinks I might be able to return them. I had the sharp pain in my foot again today. It scares me...it felt like something tearing. Tomorrow is going to be back to my Nikes and we will see what happens.

I looked up the New Balance and I'm going to go and have a look. There is a store very close to me and they do some kind of foot scans to match you with shoes. I'm starting back to acupuncture on Friday afternoon, will go to the NB store right after.

Another brand to try might be adidas ultraboosts! I see them recommended all.over the place. It is such a personal thing though... I tried OnCloud sneakers and my feet hurt SO bad, but so many people swear by them!

The Ultraboosts have little structure. They are really spongy and not in a good way. The sole is just thick enough that you can roll your ankle. My oldest has a pair that she spent $300 on and doesn’t wear them much because of how unstable they are. I’ve squeeed my 7.5 into her size 6 and they are a really odd shoe.

On Clouds I tried same time as the Hokas. I thought they were trash. Just a hard flat shoe. The day prior I notice someone at work with a pair and I asked her if she liked them. Her answer was…they’re ok with a 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got my first miles for Costco online purchase - love that it’s connected to my BMO Mastercard and AirMilesShops is not involved!

Now fingers crossed 20x miles actually post for us all from May 25 promo!

So I have a lot of foot issues and wear Hokas, they are a complete game changer! But, each style has different features. They need to be “fitted” to your needs in order to work. If you go to somewhere like the Running Room and get a free consultation, they will ask about your feet, what you use them for, watch your gait, etc. then recommend which ones will work best for you.

PSA you can now order from Costco via Ubereats (Grocery section) - the markup is slightly lower than Instacart. If you have a Costco membership you can plug it into the loyalty section to get better pricing. And you could use cash miles to get Ubereats gift card to use with this too!

I finally found a store that has the 200 pills Tic Tacs,,,and watch them not be on the list tomorrow.
They are a tad expensive at $5.69 ,,, hopefully something better shows up.

Hugs Mel
