If you wear contacts your solution does not need to go in the bag....it's considered medical. Any prescription liquids/creams are also not included. I put all my scripts in their own ziploc bag....I've got liquids and creams that they have NEVER looked at

Good to know about the meds....I will be doing that! I don't wear contacts....but I could put something else in that contact case

That's exactly what I was thinking. I think I seen similar ones at the dollar store. I thin between the 2 of us we should be ok with the amount of liquids we need. I'll just find a mousse for my hair...and it will be a curly hair weekend besides the gel he uses....we should be ok. I just hate going without certain products even for short periods of time. Call me a princess...but some things I don't like going without

Dollarama has sets of empty travel bottles. They are a lot smaller than those silicone ones. They are basically throw away quality but in many cases you don't need the quantity that the silicone bottles hold.

Another tip in case they decide to take your bag at the gate. Put all liquids into ziplock bags packed in other ziplock bags and pack as if it was going to be checked (once you get through security etc). Nothing worse than getting to your destination and finding things broken or spilled because they went in the airplane hold and you were planning on having them in a pressurized cabin.

I pack things one way to get through security and customs then repack once I get to the gate. Ziplocks are a travellers friend.

The entire aircraft is pressurized.... animals fly in the same area as the luggage. Things generally leak because lids were not on tightly. Secondary reason, the bags are stacked on top of each other and the weigh can squeeze things.

Well I switched, such a savings! Any way. Will wait and see some more AH HS reviews, and wait to see if anything happens at MK but since tickets don't go on sale until March 3rd any way I have a week and more to think about it. Kiddo and I went over the parks and dates to book the park reservations, and only 75 days to do!

@Donald - my hero you asked what time they start checking in luggage. That will be 3 hours before your flight BUT security doesn’t open until 4am. Security doesn’t always open on time either. People line up prior to 4am which is why you will see a line there. So check your bags and get in the security line. Don’t worry so much about the line it does move well and like I said they will have staff calling out for those in the first flight (which is yours) to follow them over to another area to get through ahead of everyone else.

Also, don’t be surprised if you try to do your online check in and it accepts one of you but not the other. If that happens you will have a message saying to see an agent and that check in is not complete. No big deal,it randomly selects some people for a face to face check in. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It’s just a slight inconvenience as you will have to stand in line for the counter instead of using the kiosks and self scan bag drop.

*****Desperate Plea for help******
No judgements here please, I need some help with checking into our flight to Orlando on Sunday. The flight leaves at 6:15 and it is looking close to being full so I'll want to be ready at the exact 24 hour mark tomorrow morning so we can get seats together. Here's what I need to be walked thru - flying with Air Canada and it doesn't look familiar to me

• Passport info already entered to our profiles, will I need to do that again?
• Vaccine certification- where, when and how do I upload that? Just the QR code or something else?
• The attestation form - what on earth do I do with this? How, when what??
• Seat selection - by the time I've done all of the above will we be left with sitting in 2 of the orphan are seats? There are only 13 2x2's showing at the moment

By the time I get everything uploaded and confirmed I'm worried that we won't be able to sit together. Should i just pay the fee now?!!

Side note, anyone have experience with either the Sunflower Lanyard program or using the Family and Special needs security lanes? I suffer from extreme anxiety and an horrific experience coming home from Orlando last year had me on the floor in tears in a full panic attack. I was unable to talk for myself and it took them a very long time to understand the urgency of the situation and allow my husband to get close to me. I will need him to be able to stay by my side as much as possible and I know that a butt-crack-of-dawn flight out of Pearson is it's own level of hell

.I also used a mobile passport control app that you fill out the US custom on an app and there is a different line at the US customs line. When I went to Orlando last October it was way shorter than the regular line.

Totally blew my grocery budget at Metro, I had a spend $175 get 175 AM, so I stocked up on pork chops and steak which were on sale. I used $40 airmiles cash and earned back $30 worth so I do feel it was a good return. And we have enough meat to last awhile. I'm sure kiddo will say there aren't enough snacks though. I do wish he'd eat some things that are more filling, he tends towards popsicles, and chips. I feel like if he'd eat some kind of nut or even toast and PB he'd fill up more, higher calories and not just straight sugar. Also don't know when he got quite so picky, I used to just get generic branded items but now he won't eat them. Oh well. Still feels like I got a lot fewer bags of groceries for the money. There was some sports team bagging everything for tips, I didn't know what to do with myself while waiting! I haven't had anyone bag stuff up for me since covid started.

I had planned to use all my cash miles for giftcards but this came in handy. And earning so many back is nice too.

OMG, I want to know when you put the camera in my house Mel?!?! I've just about finished up with the packing now. Large check-in bag is full-ish just waiting to be zipped up once the toilet-treat bags are added (our youngest thought that's what we were saying when she was little - toiletry bag = the bag of treats you need for the bathroom when on holidays cause you got new toothbrushes, little toothpaste tubes ... TREATS!) Can I just say that packing cubes are awesome and compression cubes are GAME CHANGING!!! We always have trouble zipping that thing up but now it's got tons of space left for whatever we buy to bring home

I can't possibly express how much I love my hubby and how much he cares for and about me. Remember the 2 pairs of shoes I found and was trying to decide on? He came up behind me with a pair of scissors, cut the tags off of both of them and said "decision made" When I was doing the online check-in for our flights he was still snoozing but when he got up I told him that we should have waited before paying for the seat selection because it's "only" an extra $90 to upgrade to Premium Economy. He tossed his AMEX at me with a massive grin "Revenge travelling is fun" while he wandered into the kitchen to get his coffee.

I AM SO BLESSED!

Had a phone call from one of the culinary team at POFQ and he is sourcing a ton of safe food for me, I can't wait to get there!

I LOVE premium economy…snacks, drinks, service. I would be all over that for $90.

He clearly has the same disease that afflicts me every vacation. Not sure what it’s called but it takes away all spending control.
