airline voucher

I am wondering if anyone knows the good, the bad, and the ugly concerning these things? Thanks for any input!

I know this thread is a couple of weeks old but I do have a story with airline vouchers. When we went to WDW in Dec 2007 our flight got cancelled until the following day and then, it was overbooked. We volunteered to wait until the next plane in exchange of a voucher each for free roundtrip travel anywhere in North America good for a year. Then, in May 2008 we decided to book our Dec 2008 California vacation. Well, guess what? The tickets were only good for something called "W" class tickets which is a class of tickets that is close to IMPOSSIBLE to find. We checked the calendar with available dates from June 08 to December 08 using MANY different airports and the ONLY ittenerary that worked for 2 weeks was in Sept and leaving form Syracuse NY to Ontario CA with 3 layovers each way. That was with NORTHWEST AIRLINES. If anyone out there is ever offered a voucher for a free roundtrip ticket, please beware of the specification, if its W CLASS ONLY, most likely, you wont be able to find anything that works for you.
