Airline Troubles

We booked our trip about 5 months ago and had everything planned, down to the smallest of details. Then we got an e-mail a couple of days ago stating our flight time had been changed from a morning flight to an evening flight, thus effectively removing a day of park time. After a couple of days we finally made the decision to move our flight back a day, so now we have 9 days in the parks instead of 8.

Maybe I should send the airline a thank you note?!? :goodvibes :thumbsup2

airlines and flights can be a real hassle, especially when something like that happens; at least you got an extra day in disney!!! that makes up for it!!!:cool1:

I swear, I thought this was someone elses thread, who I just had a convo. with yesterday!
They did the same thing... they WERE arriving at 11 am, now they are arriving around 5pm!
AND , they COULDN"T get them in the night before!

I think you definately lucked out!

The same thing happened to me. They moved my flight later by 10 minutes. This was just enough time to miss my connection in Atlanta and the next one had me arriving aafter 8pm instead of 3pm. I called the airline and told them their solution was unacceptable to me. She offered to look at the schedule to see what could be done. I quickly told her which flight I'd rather have.... a direct flight in the morning. We'll now be getting to WDW in time for lunch!!
Originally the plan was for my daughter to go to school for most of the day and head straight to the airport. Now that can't happen. I wish I could have just flown out the night before and woken up Tuesday morning in Disney.

to all: what airlines are the delays on? I had my flight cancelled last minute last August by Delta. Woke up soooo exited, went to do an online check-in at 5:00a.m and saw my flight was CANCELLED! My heart never sank so fast in my entire life. I almost had a stroke! We were bumped to a later flight, lost a day in the park and were compensated $50 per person for travel at a later date (they gave us vouchers after several complaint phone calls on my part to recoup something.)
We are booked for Oct. travel this year and even though i got a great fare with the vouchers I am absolutely terrified this will happen again since it is Delta once again. Especially terrified cause I'll be flying for the first time with a 4-month old.

Ok, you're freaking me out a little bit!! Our flights with Delta have changed about five times since we booked them. We leave Saturday at 7am, please think happy flying thoughts for us so we do not have the same situation!! :sad2:

Our flights have changed about 3 times since we booked months ago. The flight keeps changing times by like an hour. I hope everything is okay with the flight because we leave in 26 days!

Sorry to have freaked you out, but since your flight is a 7:00a.m flight you will likely be o.k. They say the later in the day the flight is, the more chance there is that it could be delayed or cancelled. They also told me that aside from mechanical probs or weather issues, flights could be cancelled for insufficient booking....you could go online to see how many seats are currently taken, and that may give you some peace of mind if you see that the plane is full. It could go either way though, so i don't know! But, being that your flight is so early, atleast there will be plenty of others to get you on! That is looking on the bright side! So, atleast you know you'll make it there that day...and if they cancel or delay your flight significantly, definately fight for some sort of refund. Because of our vouchers, we are flying from NYC to Orlando on a $98 round trip fare this time around! So that is the silver lining i guess.... Good luck!
