Hi, Im new here and just have a quick question...

Has anyone used the airline tickets that you can include in the Magic your way packages on the disney website?

There are no canadian airports available, but you can fly out of buffalo. We're in Hamilton so it isnt much of a drive, just wondering if anyone had a good experience doing this?

You would be much better off price-wise to book package only and then look at prices from Toronto/Hamilton or Buffalo on your own. Unless you are using a travel agent and she can book them separately for you.

where is a good place to look for airline tickets?
All the places Ive been checking out seem to be quite expensive.
Adding them to the magic your way package only added on about $800 for 3 people.
THe cheapest Ive found them elsewhere is about $300.

we are thinking either end of September 2008 or Early January 2009.
Im not quite ready to book yet, Im just sort of trying to get together a rough estimate of the cost of our trip.

I think you should check the MYW your package price too. I booked back in Sep/06 (the first time the free dining came out) and at that time the cheapest flights I found were directly through Disney. Also, when I checked back in the summer too the cheapest I found was through AirTran which was the same for connecting or direct flights and while AirTran somehow was "sold out" of the cheapest direct flights the Disney site still had them available. So defintely check it out AND the other sites. I know AirTran typically is very cheap from Buffalo so you may want to start there.

about a month ago we booked our airfare going out of Buffalo for March3rd, returning on the 11th. We took advantage of the seat sale that JetBlue has flying out of Buffalo and we are only paying $686 return U.S. for three of us including an infant. We are flying Buff to Ft.Lauderdale, then Orlando to Buff. Each flight is direct as well. I would check out Jet Blue asap to see if you can still get their $99 seats.

Its probably too early to find any great airline discounts on your own. Disney does not mark up airline prices that you book through them so they won't be more expensive. However out of Buffalo the only airline they will use with a direct flight is Airtran. So far they do not offer Jetblue/Southwest as booking options.

Typically at this far out you will find regular scheduled airlines such as Delta/Us air that will have connections.

You're going to find, as we did when searching out flights, that too much lead time invariably means higher air fare costs. In the end had I waited until a few weeks ago to book my airfare I would have gotten cheaper flights than the ones I booked in early September for our January trip. Luckily, though we got a good deal and I probably could only have saved a few extra dollars - I'm not crying in my soup. Finding cheap airfares depends on a lot: luck, perseverance, good research and the strength of your stomach (how long are you willing to wait before jumping into the pool). If I weren't travelling inside the next six months I would probably wait it out a bit. BUT I would be watching air fares like a hawk - we're talking daily because they will go up before they come down.

Southwest and Jetblue both fly direct out of Orlando.
