Does anyone know where to get cheap airfare? I found it for 247.40 per person and trying to figure if that is a good price for a stop going down and non-stop coming home. Our trip isn't until October, some tell me to wait it out and others say with the price of gas going higher that I should book asap. I see on American Airlines that they have a section to add a discount code? Does anyone know what this is for and how to get a discount?

I am eager to hear everyone's opinion and I will value each and every one you leave me. Thank you!

Without knowing where you're coming from it's hard to say. Really though, unless it's the west coast, I think you could do better. Travelocity has a farewatcher you can set up and they email you alerts (that's how I got tickets for $116 rt out of Pittsburgh last year). Also, if SW flies from your area, I would download DING. I'm sure some of the experts here will chime in for you.

October's not a big travel month for the most part, so I would wait. It would help to know where you're flying to/from though. Airlines usually run a special 3 months prior to a slower season. It won't necessarily be every airline, but one will (usually) target the city I'm interested in or can make do with. I like using sidestep.com for great comparisons.

I am sorry, I should have included that....

I am flying out of Logan International (Boston), it will be myself, my husband and my 7yr old daughter. We want an early flight down on the 7th of October to the 15th and hopefully an afternoon flight.
