I cannot for the life of me decipher the "rules" on the TSA website. I get the whole liquid thing but can you bring food through security or do you have to purchase it after security and before the gate? Specifically I'd like to bring my son some PB&J sandwiches and do snacks like prepackaged crackers, goldfish etc. Are these ok to bring from home? We leave tomorrow so I need to know fast and google isn't giving me the answers so of course you dis'ers will know:thumbsup2 .

Thanks in advance...

The things you list are fine. You may have trouble bringing a jar of peanut butter since it's gel-like, but I'm assuming you are pre-making the sandwiches, and I have brought deli sandwiches through before.

Have fun!

I am not sure about the peanut butter. I have heard that if there are peanut allergies, they don't allow anything with peanuts on the plane.

We never take peanut butter, so I don't know for sure, but I have read this more than once.

We have taken a small soft sided cooler with the following:
Meat sandwiches
Cheese Sticks
Grapes & apple slices

We took mayo and mustard packets, which we had in our 1qt. ziplock bag for security to screen.

We used a bag of frozen string beans to keep everything cold.

No issues whatsoever.

And I know from experience that you can take peanut butter on a plane, at least on a sandwich.
