airline restrictions on luggage weight?

I am packing a suitcase with nonperishables and lot of water/juice boxes. I looked at the USAir website and it looks like the weight limit for a suitcase is 75 lbs. Can anyone confirm/deny this? For some reason, I thought it was 45lbs.

It's definitely more than 45 lbs. for a domestic flight. Just give US Air a call and ask them.

I would guess that our expandable suitcase weighed close to 75lbs. on the return flight. We completely filled one of the carry-ons with souvenirs, and moved everything else into the big bag. The airline put a sticker on it that said, "HEAVY".

yes it is 75LBs and the carry on cannot weigh more than 45 lbs.
