We have been looking into airlines for our trip next year and have always been happy with virgin domestic so are leaning towards using them to fly direct Brisbane to L.A and return how have everyone found them for international flights? Once in America we were thinking of using Virgin American for the L.A to Orlando flight and are considering springing for first class seeing as we would of just come off a international flight, has anyone had any issues with them? What other American Airlines to people recommend?

The only issue I have with them is paying extra for baggage, but maybe if you go first class you won't have to. I've always liked Southwest myself- two free bags, great prices and fun staff.

I really liked Virgin America.
I upgraded to Main Cabin Select and this included a free bag each. Perhaps two? I can't quite remember.
I put a review on my blog.

I have flown with Virgin America and found them great. Our flight was part of an international ticket, so didn't have to pay for luggage (although the check in agent tried to charge me until I posted out the 2 included bags on my e-ticket and she rang to confirm). My only gripe is that they have a limited timetable, so I'd make sure you have plenty of time to get to their terminal to check in and get to the gate. We love Southwest and JetBlue but I don't think either have direct flights from LA. We've had no issues with Delta either.

We have flown Virgin Australia to LA a few times and loved it, we have always had great staff and decent food. I will be flying Virgin America domestically for the first time next week!!
I am also flying main cabin select, free baggage and food, extra legroom etc. I'm not sure I would pay for first class, as I think main cabin select is sufficient, if I was going to fork out $700-$800 more for first class on a domestic leg, I think I would try and spend the money on upgrading the Brisbane-LA leg to premium economy, obviously depends on getting good deals though.
Delta tend to have good sales and they are flying new planes from Oz, other option is Fiji air, Brisbane-Fiji economy, then Fiji-La in business, they have excellent deals for less than $2500, if you can get them:thumbsup2

Can't comment on V Aust international but I definitely concur with the others about Virgin America. We flew lLA Orlando in main Cabin select and it was great and I would highly recommend. I think I have review on my travel blog. Agree that first class wasn't worth the extra for us but you can login a certain number of hours before and upgrade to first for much less if there are seats available. I tried but it was sold out. In the end I was very happy with main cabin select.

We flew Virgin to the US last time we went and were very happy with them.

Also flew Virgin America and thought they were fantastic! I agree with Gogo if you're thinking of upgrading to first class domestically you're probably better off using that money towards making your international flights more comfortable.

Gogo - DH and I were just looking at the Fiji airfares. They were a great price when we first got on the website, then by the time we clicked through had gone up $800!

Oh that's crap!!
Like me on Sunday, looking at my sons flight to LA, saw front row in economy upstairs on the A380 available, quickly called DS down stairs and by the time I clicked it, it was gone:sad2:sometimes you have to be super quick:scared:
