I haven't been on a plane since 1998,and things certainly have changed by then. I am confused about what the rules are about bringing on shampoo and conditioner, sun lotion, mouthwash, bath gel, ect. I thought you could pack that sort of stuff in your regular luggage, but only bring liquids in your carry on if they are in 3 oz bottles and a clear platic bag? Now I am told by a friend that we can only bring the 3 oz bottles of liquid and that they have to be checked in,and are not allowed to be with our carry on luggage. I checked the websites of the airlines we are using, but they weren"t really clear to me. Does anyone know if you can bring whole bottles of shampoo and condtioner, ect in your checked in luggage? We are using US Airways & United Airlines. Please help!!! And thank you so much!

So this is the reason why I ship all the toiletries and things of this nature down. I do bring my travel size tooth paste, deodorant and sunscreen with me in my pocket book as well. But outside of that, it goes in the shipping box. Unfortunately, everyone in our family uses different stuff so we have a lot of toiletries. I have tried for many years to condense it with no luck. I do agree about the ziploc bags in the checked luggage. I had a shampoo bottle open on me as well and boy what a mess.
