I caught the tail end of a news report that said something about charging $100 US per person fuel surchages on us flights. Anyone else hear or know anything about this? Also, if the airlines do this could they charge this to someone even after they have already bought and paid for their flight?

Surcharges are usually only done with Cargo Rates.

If you purchased your flights prior to any increase, you would not be required to pay anymore to fly. You bought the "contract" at that current rate.

yes. you have a sort of contract.if you already bought and paid for your tickets they are locked in at the price paid for.if the airline was not to honor the rates you already paid for, this would be a crime and illegal for them to do this as long as you already have or paid for your tickets.
