Hi~
Does anyone know that if the airline changes your flight time, can you switch to another flight without penalty? I can't seem to find anything specific on the airline website that pertains to the airline changing flight as opposed to the traveler wanting to change the flight. I have been told by people that they will change it free of charge if they changed the original flight time. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

i have switched flights without being penalized a few times with spirit because they made a change in the original flight times (is that who you are flying with? because i am also from EXTREME south jersey:thumbsup2 ) one time i actually changed days of travel & most recently i changed my flight time on the same day. if the fare is higher or lower, they will not charge/credit the difference.

hope this helps & have a great trip!

Thanks! We are flying Spirit out of A.C. Don't you just love when they say EXTREME Southern NJ on the news? Like we're from another planet or something! I live in Cape May County and it might as well be another planet I guess. I'll try calling Spirit and see what happens.

I know that Delta won't let you do it unless they change your flight more than 4 hours from the original one that you booked.... tried to do it myself this past fall when Delta kept changing the time for our departure to Orlando.... and it didn't work.... GOOD LUCK! Hope you're able to get a flight that suits you! :)

Ok....after 2 hours and three different calls I was able to change my flights. The first lady said I would get a credit since we had to change half our group from Spirit Plus to Coach. I said I would check with the party and call back. The second girl said there were no Plus seats. She was on the wrong screen and when I asked about the plus seats she gave me an attitude. I told her not to do anything and I would call her back. I called right back and got my third lady. I did this because even though the 2nd lady told me there were no plus seats I was on the web site and could see that there were. While I was online with the third lady explaining what I wanted to do and I got an e-mail confirmation saying that all the seats had been changed to the new flights and we were all in coach. Apparently, the second lady did not listen. $5 minutes later with the third lady and all the flights and seats were worked out, but the third lady talks to a supervisor and tells us that there are no vouchers. I was already planning a girls weekend!:sad2:

Upshot is our flights are changed and we've lost some money. Oh well...
I also booked the Tampa hotel of our trip. The Disney end is booked, ADR's are made and I was able to assign seats for the flight down because we are a little less then 90 days out.

:sad2: sorry to hear that they gave you such a hassle. it makes it so much easier to fly on spirit because it is so close (and the flights are fine), but anytime i have ever called them they are anything but nice (i was actually going to mention it in my first post, but i didn't want to sound negative:rolleyes: ). i now just expect for them to be rude/not very helpful and i am not surprised!!

have fun planning the rest of your trip:wizard: :wizard:

I had to cancel trip last year midwest express truly the best care in the air did not charge any extra fees or anything told me just rebook within the year I did it this year no hassles:cool1: GO MIDWEST EXPRESS they were great:cheer2:

We had flights last year that had a 90 min. (or so) layover on the way home - we would have preferred direct, but the price differential was too great. They changed our flights so we would have had a 4 hour layover (and left about 2 hours later ) - it actually would have been faster to drive home from the connecting airport if we had had our car, luggage, etc.

We called the airline and complained - they re-booked us on a direct flight instead without penalty. I think their rules were if arrival moved by more than 4 hours, they can re-book without penalty.

Worked out well for us!
