My narrowist carseat is missing its stickers, heat makes them peal. I wanted to take newer one anyway, easier to buckel but now I am worried about post saying they have to be less than 16 inches.

Yes, the carseat has to have the sticker. You should be able to get a replacement sticker from the car seat company. But the airlines do have the right to refuse to let you use the seat. Take a copy of the regulations with you on the plane in case you get a FA that isn't well informed.

Just an fyi. We flew continental back in june. On the way down no problem, we were allowed to use our full size booster seat. But on the way back we were not and had to check it on the plane. My 2 1/2 yr old son had his own seat and wore his seat belt like a big boy all the way home (thank god).

Just wondering what happened to change things on the way back. The next time we go to WDW, we will be flying with our kids for the first time & planned on using their booster/car seats on the plane.

What is it I need to be aware of to make sure there isn't a problem when we fly?

Thanks.

If your seat is an approved one and the sticker is missing, call the mfr. and give them the serial number of the seat; they will send you a replacement sticker. (BTW, paint over the sticker w/ clear nail polish after you put it on; that will keep it from peeling so easily.)

We just had a thread re: airlines refusing the use of an approved carseat: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=641157

For overseas visitors: if you have a seat that qualifies under your own govt. standard and would like to use that seat when travelling on a US-based airline, bring along the paperwork that shows the approval. If you don't have documentation, you should be able to write to the mfr. to get a letter that certifies whether or not the seat qualifies under the US standard.

Yes that other tread is what made me worry. Ireally don't want to drag my carseat, not be able to use it an dthen drag it to Disney and back for no reason. (We are taking a towncar which will provide a seat.)

Try www.seatguru.com as they have the seat width for the aircraft. First check your flight and type of aircraft then check seatguru its awesome.

The other thing I would suggest is to call the airline and find out the policy regarding CSR's. Why not call for the sticker or better yet do you have a friend or relative you can trade with for the length of the trip?
