Airline Booking???

I was told you can book your plane tickets 11 months in advance. Im almost at the 11 month mark so I went into Delta.com, just to check it out(dont know if Ill definitely book asap, but I was curious). Now at the part where you enter your dates and cities, the drop down menu only goes up until December 2001. That is much less than 11 months away. I also went and checked the flight schedules and even those only go up to April 2002(again, less than 11 months). Was that 11 month time frame that I was told incorrect or do you need to call to book this far in advance or what?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

most carriers go to 330-340 days out. (majors that is) I just tried the DL websight and I was able to book for may 2002. the drop down menu starts with jan and goes thru the months. I clicked on may and then may again for the return and it worked. not sure what you are speaking of.

Thanks Beverly Lynn! Your reply made me realize what I was doing wrong. When I first started looking at those pulldown menus, it was around January, so all along I have been under the impression that the Jan-Dec list was for 2001, and then when 2002 came along, a new Jan, Feb, etc would be added to the bottom of those lists. Now I realize I should just be going back to the top of the list for next year. So technically, those lists begin with Jan, 2002 and then switch to 2001 at(or around) todays date, and from there on, the list goes back to 2001. Its pretty obvious now(Duh!!!). Thank you!
