Airline baggage service

The complimentary Magical Express, especially combined with the resort airline check in, were phenomenal perks that I will miss.

We were at AK Kidani in April. I was hoping to weigh my bags. Nothing was left.

I have a digital luggage scale that I pack each trip to use on the way home. It's just a handle with a hook, so it's quite small. It's totally worth it to me to know how much my bag weighs.

Alternatively, I've found that the people doing bag check at the resort often have one. However, they're often quite busy, so I've appreciated having my own.

I received the following email response:
We appreciate your interest in Disney's Magical Express® service and will be happy to assist you further. There will not be a new Walt Disney World® Resort offering to replace the Disney’s Magical Express service when it comes to an end.

Guests who need assistance in finding alternative transportation options to and from Orlando International Airport can find more information by visiting https://orlandoairports.net/parking-transportation/.

The Resort Airline Check-In was a service offered in connection with Disney’s Magical Express. That service came to an end last year due to Covid-19 and will not be returning.

We appreciate your understanding.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Thank you and have a magical day,

That doesn't seem very magical to me! I don't use the service any longer but I can see where this is really a big blow to those who did. To me this is a big thing they are taking away. As a stockholder I probably shouldn't say this but it would serve them right if they lost business due to this change. Maybe if enough people decided to go elsewhere due to this change they would change their mind. One can always hope.

I figured this was gone for good but reading this is so sad. Seems like a lot of bad news lately in regards to perks and amenities ever returning post pandemic. I can’t help but feel like they totally capitalized on the pandemic as a way to cut amenities without lowering prices in return. Really takes away from the magic and ease of a Disney vacation.

Losing the resort airline checkin is a huge loss for us. We are in our 70's, stay for 10 or more days and have been terrible overpackers (my best friend is brutal with this !!). This year it was just too much for her to lug the 40plus lb bag both to and from the resort (we already ship a box ahead and back with UPS!!). We are downsizing our bags to carryons (will still check them) so everything is more manageable. We would gladly pay at the resort to check bags!!

I agree, I will miss that service, and it is one I would be willing to pay for.

we're similar (in our 60's, stay for about 2 weeks) - have you looked into an Owner's Locker? It really makes our WDW stays so much easier.

When lugging car seats and strollers and all this junk, that service was a gamechanger. It was something so cool and special and easy that you only got at Disney.

I've transitioned to Owner's Locker, so I guess it doesn't matter much to me anymore.

I have considered the Owner's Locker but when I look at what we take, it is not stuff we could really leave there for the rest of the year. Our worst year was before DVC....a 17 day split stay between GF and BWI. Between us we had over 30 pairs of footwear....we have gotten better!!

Still haven't heard anything about this service, Sadly, at this time doesn't appear to be returning. It made it so easy leaving for the airport. It was one less line to wait in at the airport.
Still hoping we see it back at some time.

True, but with the automated kiosks they have now, it is much easier to get through airport check-in. But I do miss the service at the resort.

The automated kiosks aren't bad when they work. But, still loved the convenience of checking the bags at the resort. Not to give Disney any ideas, but I would be far more likely to pay for that then Genie+.

Makes having laundry in your room even more pleasant…. Hated dragging laundry to the common room.

Two to four washers/dryers for so many studios….
