 We are planning on a WDW trip in September and we were thinking of taking our stroller. This stroller is the big one like the one that comes with the infant car seat. I was wondering if anyone who had one had problems with taking it on a plane or at WDW? Plus, with all this heightened security I am wondering if they will even allow one like this at all. :confused3

As far as I have heard, the NEW airport security effects LIQUIDS only!

We will also be gate checking a "large" double stroller (Graco Duo Glider) in November.
I have also SEEN many large strollers in Disney in the past (even the "bicycle" wheel jogging strollers)

I have heard that they are restricting wheelchairs (making them be checked in before security and traded for an airport wheelchair). If that is the case, I would not be surprised if they make all strollers be checked baggage.

We are taking DS18months on his first flight in Sept and planning on taking our new MacLaren stroller . . . so I am subscribing to this thread in hopes we get up-to-date info from those Dis'ers that are travelling in the "new normal" climate of air travel.

I just heard from NWA that the stroller is fine and as of right now it doesn't have to be checked in with the luggage, but who knows if it soon will change. The airline stated we can take through the airport and it will be checked in right when we board. Hope this helps.

I am also interested in this issue. We will be travelling in September and are going to gate check our strollers (two of them) for the first time ever. I sure hope we don't have to check them with the luggage because I am sure they will be destroyed if they go through the baggage handling system.

I don't know anything about the new restrictions, but I have one stroller tip---take off the snack tray and carry it on the plane with you. Mine was seperated from my stroller and we didn't have it for two days before they find it. Since there is limited liability on strollers, all they were willing to do was pay for us to replace the tray when we got back home--which wouldn't have done us a bit of good while on vacation for 10 days!

With luck, they found it, and with some pushing/prodding/nagging, we got them to deliver it to our hotel.

My wife, daughter, and I are going on the 14th (just a few more days!) and American stated that we could take the stroller all the way to the gate (and we can gate check it there). Nothing new since all this has happened...

When you gate check a stroller you don't have access to it during the flight so it isn't really carry on. I'm hoping to get check my strollers in about 10 days.

Thanks starting this. I was wondering the same thing this morning. We leave in a week with our DS 19 months. I don't want to have to wait on ME to bring the stroller a few hours later. My Disney Crazed Drill Sergeant Husband  wants to get to the parks asap after checking in to the hotel. I don't want to even try going without our stroller.
