Airfares in Dec/Jan

Haha, mellyB, we might have almost run into each other!! We went off to collect a few more brochures, and then I went to check out the luggage stand near the theaterettes. I noticed the rep was still off to the side talking to another couple, so I bailed her up for a quick chat straight after.

Lol, too funny. We also looked at that luggage. Thinking we'll get the kids a bag each from there, as we could do different colours and were super light and the prices were good.

Hmm, this is almost becoming a PTR (but I purposely didn't start one yet as it makes me look like a freak, planning this far ahead! :rotfl2:)

:rotfl: You're not a freak, I've already got a PTR for our trip at xmas next year. Nothing like planning a head I say!

It's never too early to write a PTR, we're all on these boards because we love to plan after all!!

LOL - I think I might start one tonight then (it's obviously just DH who thinks I'm a freak, oh and my family...and my friends!) But here at Disboards, I have found like-minded people!

We are also still open to the idea of going a week earlier (but I think that puts us in NY for NYE, which would be insanely expensive)

NYE in NYC is ridiculously expensive! We are leaving NYC to go to Orlando on the morning of New Year's Eve mainly because our hotel went from $380 a night to over $700!!! We aren't that big into New Years anyway so not too interested in the ball drop. Especially not with 2 kids!

We got luggage from Big W for a pretty good price, in different (bright!) colours.

LOL, yeah I priced it out today and it is $2500 more expensive to be in NY those 4-5 days earlier! And if we were to leave a week earlier in Dec, it would only be a saving of $900 on airfares, but that saving gets eaten up by the increased accommodation cost in New York, so overall we'd be around $1500 worse off (plus no free dining!). Think we'll just enjoy WDW in its crowded state!

And as much as I'd love to see the ball drop on NYE (especially as it's our anniversary), the reality is that we won't be hanging around in Times Square all day, with DS, in order to see it (and pay so much extra for the 'privilege'!)

I think I have decided to go with our dates as planned - but DH is very concerned about the crowds. I can't see a way around it though - unless we revert back to our usual timing of Sept/Oct. and then we miss out on my dream of a Disney Christmas, and being somewhere special for our anniversary.
