I use kayak.com. Just put in your dates and it will bring up the prices for all the major airlines as well as expedia, travelocity, etc. so that you can compare everything. I really like this site. :)

There is such a thing as cheap airfare? Travel sites used to offer good deals but now you are better off going directly to the airline itself. Jet blue is cheap if they fly out of your area. GL! :)

Travel websites such as kayak.com do the work for you so that you don't have to check with each airline. It will list the fares for all the airlines from the lowest to the highest so you can see who has the best prices. Then you can select which fares that you want and book your flight right there through the airline. It really works great.

I love airfarewatchdog.com You set it up once time, and then it updates the airfare list several times per day with latest fares. I set it as my home page so that I could glance at it each time I open a browser. I was able to get really incredible fares this way from Seattle to LGB. I also had alerts set at Travelociy and Kayak, and they notified me a day later of the same fare.

I'm a big fan of calling a travel agent right before you book. I tracked fares for my honeymoon for months and when I thought I had the best possible price I called a local travel agent and they were able to save me an additional $250. Doesn't sound like a lot but it made a difference. I tracked with Kayak.com and then called a travel agent.

Thanks everyone for the tips.

That airfarewatchdog is awesome. Already got an e-mail with a great price to SNA, just not at the time I'm going.

This site sounds great! I'll check it out.:)

farecast will give you predictions up to 3 months before your departure date as to whether fares will go up, down, or remain the same. It also gives you the percent confidence levels of each. I booked my fare through Air Canada and found that booking directly with them was cheaper than any of the other fare searches which did not include the seat sale I found on their website. Good luck!
