Airfare to CA on SW - need more dates!

We're planning a trip to DL and then to Aulani this summer and I am actively watching for airfare...Does anybody know when SW might release more dates to include the rest of August? Just last week they had 1 flight from the DC area to LA that was $186...today the same flight is $285!! I really hate to book 1-way's if I can avoid it....and I hate to say it but some of the "big 3" are cheaper when I price them out round trip so I was wondering if I should grab them....but SW's planes are nicer and not as cramped for a long flight! The fares are soooo high now.

I wouldn't agree that WN has the nicest planes! I haven't flown them in a few years, but in the past I have flown on some really well used WN planes. Other airlines have some much nicer planes with bigger seats and more leg room and more entertainment options, as well as assigned seats.

I like to fly Delta on long flights, I look for flights that have the personal TV. I paid $59 for the upgrade to Economy Comfort on my last flight.

WN? All I know is we had been using a combination of SW, AT and JB over the past 3 or 4 years and then this past summer we used United to FL for the first time in AGES and we HATED the plane. It was soooo cramped and the seats were miserably uncomfortable. We were def. more comfortable on the SW, AT & JB planes.

Odds are good I'll end up either booking Delta or Hawaiian Airlines for our flights between LA and HI but I won't be able to spring for any upgrades as we're on a major budget with how much this trip is going to cost outside of our DVC points (DL park tix, rental cars, meals, excursions in HI etc.). We have also used Delta on the majority of our long haul flights....we used them on our last trip to HI...but they stopped flying direct between DC and FL so I RARELY use them now unless it's a major trip. This is such a waiting game trying to decide when to pull the trigger.

BTW what would you expect is a "reasonable" airfare price these days between the left and right coasts? Do you think $350ish for a summer fare is gonna be as good as it gets now-a-days? It's been a really long time since we flew to CA....I know the last time we went we only paid like $210 pp rt. I know those days are gone...but I was hoping for closer to $300 pp. Do you think that I'm drinking funny Kool-aid to wish for that??
