When is the best time to purchase airfare for late April or early May? I would need 2 tickets to Fort Lauderdale or Miami and am willing to fly from DesMoines, Omaha or Kansas City, if the price is right. My preference would be to fly from Des Moines. I have seen a rate of $108.00 RT from Kansas City to Fort Lauderdale on Vanguard. I am waiting for one of the Hot deals Vanguard runs to see if I can get a companion fare for less. What do you think? Thanks! Lilly

Personally, I would wait no longer than 3 weeks before your trip. Just keep checking the prices and jump on whatever you consider a good deal. I have waited too long before and ended up paying WAY more than I wanted to:mad:

Good luck! And happy cheap ticket hunting!

We fly out of KC all the time and, if you have a shot at a $108RT ticket, I would buy it NOW! That is a fabulous price. I may have to buy a few myself. ;)

Sounds like a great price!! KC usually has lower airfares than Des Moines or Omaha. Buy it now- that's only $54 ONE WAY!!!!

Thanks for your suggestions. I know that is a great rate out of KC, the bad part is we would have to add 3 days on to our trip in order to get that rate. So far, I haven't been able to convince my husband to do this, so I guess I'm going to have to watch and wait for awhile.
