I realize this is a peak travel time but does anyone know if the prices will drop or will they stay the same/go higher? I've been watching the rates for a couple months now and they really haven't changed much.

We are flying out of Manchester, NH to MCO. We would like to leave on 2/12 in the afternoon/evening but can always fly in on 2/13 as well and we plan to return on 2/20 in the late afternoon/early evening or 2/21 in the early afternoon :)

For this coming Feb I booked our flights on SWA PVD-MCO the day they came out. I learned that with Feb or April vacations, waiting for cheaper flights only prolongs the agony over what to do as the prices go up and flights sell out. The last time we went in Feb (2008) I was so happy to finally see a ding (in Dec, sometime around now) that I booked our trip home in the WRONG direction & didn't notice the mistake until a week before we were to leave. Of course I paid premium prices to return at that point.... :rotfl:

My answer to you is that there is hope for slight reductions in airfare, but then again, all the airlines have reduced the number of flights out there, so maybe not. I wouldn't wait if I were you - just figure it into the cost of the cost of the trip and budget around it. You can't have fun in Disney if you're not there :D

For President's Week, I would not expect prices to go a whole lot lower than they are now. Farecast doesn't track MHT, but you could try it for other nearby aiports and see what it says.

We booked a WDW trip in February a few years back chiefly because SWA had a terrific rate. But, we traveled early in the month and that is probably the deal breaker; fares tend to rise as the month progresses and schools begin their breaks.

YIKES!!! President's Week is tough, and for this time period you're a little late in booking. I don't think at this point, you'll see the prices go down at all, unless there is some very short window of sale prices. I've had my tickets booked from BOS-RSW since last March, got $249 NS R/T and was THRILLED with that price. At this point, you're likely looking at $300+ for a 1 stop, and I know the flights I'm on are $800+ for the non-stop.

If your dates are not cast in stone, maybe look into getting out of NH a day or two earlier. That could help a little.

We booked $199 RT with CO out of EWR to MCO two weeks ago for 2/27 travel. I have not seen the price go down, and JetBlue is the same or higher depending on travel dates.

we booked out of portland Maine 2 - 3 weeks ago for 2/10 -2/19. I was watching fares for MHT or PWM and I saw a good rate for MHT, I tried to book on the spot and the site came back with a notice that the fare had already gone up. so I jumped over to portland (same airline) and managed to get these booked for $10/ticket more than the low fare at MHT ($280 vs $270, we can usually get $250 this week). This flight jumped by $50/ticket about 1 hour after we booked. *Note* that I could have booked SWA from MHT for $50/ticket less in september, but my wife "wanted to wait for a price drop"...with less flights and higher demand around vacation those drops aren't coming in my opinion.

Flying out on the 12 or 13th is going to be expensive. If you can fly out on the 10th or 11th you will save a bit of money. Also consider flying out of Boston.
Flying out of Boston on Airtran February 10-19 is $287
The closer you get to the weekend the more expensive it is to fly. In the past we have flown out on Tues or Wed before to save money. Plus it gets us a few days in the parks before the weekend crowds arrive.
This coming February we are flying February 10-20. We booked our flights last spring.

Thanks everyone, I didn't think the prices would go down but I thought I'd ask. This was kind of a last minute decision trip or I would have planned better. We already have a house we are renting and paid for so those dates are pretty much set in stone so we'll just have to suck it up and pay the higher rate LOL

I know you said you have a house booked already but it still may be cheaper for you to fly down earlier and get an inexpensive hotel for a night or two before your house rental.
