Just thought I'd let you know that the Air Fares dropped on Travelocity. I've been checking for a trip from SNA (Smaller Airport in Anaheim, CA) to MCO, and before this, the cheapest I could get in my dates was $258 per...Now, I got $198. I'm so happy that I waited, in fact, these are even better rates than what I got last January, for $228.

Other notes:

Pittsburg to MCO : $168 (In fact, if you're willing to go Pittsburg to tampa it is only $90!!!!)
Chicago to MCO : $118
JFK to MCO : $138 (Take the Long Island flight out of ISP and it will only cost $90!!!)
Seattle to MCO : $198
Boise to MCO : $198
Houston to MCO : $158

Check out your dates and destinations, I'm flying to a wedding in Seattle for only $142, down from $258 last week!!!

I wish you guys the best, and just thought you should know!

what dates were you looking at .? I looked up isp to mco and couldn't get that fare for dec 6 thru dec 9.
(" Long Island flight out of ISP and it will only cost $90!!!)

I went and typed in JFK to MCO - Said that dates are flexible, as you typically get better rates that way, and most airlines have flexi dates open now until December 15- Then at the top, it listed that you could go from ISP to MCO for $90, as a counterfare. I clicked that, and it took me to a fare decision thing, so I didn't press it further.

Try it like that, and let me know how it goes.

Actually, I just figured out something.
When it was pumping out fares for me, it gave me some with taxes included, and some without. I think the fare for $90 is without taxes and government fees, but it would be something like $140 with it...maybe that's the difference between what you and I are getting.

Now, airports are charging folks fees of between $2 - $18, so up to $36 round trip, and we're paying segment fees of $3 per segment (So $6, round trip, and more if your plane stops) There is a September 11 Security fee, charged both ways at $2.50, so $5 round trip. (more if more than one segment each way). As well as Taxes on top of that! So if you are getting a different # than me, see if all taxes & fees, are included, as it may be the difference. Unfortunately, the charges are unavoidable, and can sweep you up to between $30 - $60 extra per ticket round trip.

Should have made that more clear.

Still for alot of folks, the #'s are still low ($148 out of Long Island may be good for you, as it includes all taxes and fees, as opposed to the $90 I was quoted for one where you still pay taxes and fees). I'm so sorry, even I was confused until just now.

Those fees don't seem to be consistent either. I am flying to visit my dear old mom over Labor Day. I am paying roughly $36 in taxes and fees.
We bought tix last night to MCO (October) and the taxes and fees were almost half that.

Continental from Cleveland to MCO dropped from $298 to $216! That is with tax included and a non-stop. This is for Dec 3-14. If I went for a day or 2 shorter it was $246... so I just HAD TO stay longer ;)

So keep checking

We were planning on driving to WDW from NJ (in 2 weeks), but this morning I decided to go on the internet (on JetBlue.com) to check out some prices. You can get fares as low as $74 each way from JFK to MCO!!! Needless to say, I booked it!! So, instead of driving for 19+ hours, we will be arriving in 2!!:D Now I'm doin' the HAPPY DANCE!!!!!:earseek:

Certain parts of the taxes/fees are consistent. It is $2.50 per flight segment (every time you change planes it's a segment) for the Sept. 11 security fee.

The airport fees are imposed by the airports some airports impose the full fee and some don't. That is the big inconsistency!

Right now if you fly from Islip to MCO on SWA it will cost you 115.00 round trip. This is of course, assuming non stop flights.
Add one stop and the price goes to 125.00 rt.
This is for Sept. and includes all those pesky taxes and fees.
