Airfare in September?

When is the best time to buy. I live in Charleston, which is only 6 hours away and we always drive to WDW. But, in September, I'm joining my sister ( who'll fly in from Williamsburg, VA ) on the DVC member cruise. The rest of my family will be at home.

I plan on flying down on Saturday, we've got a reservation overnight at Beach Club, and doing a one way car rental to Port Canaveral the next day.

Prices are currently above $400.

When would you buy?

Checking airfare prices is like investing in the stock market! Sometimes you look really smart by waiting, and sometimes, well...not so smart. Sometimes the price will go up, and sometimes it will go down.

Are you a gambler? My opinion is: if you are comfortable with the price now you should book it.

I've flown to Florida plenty of times in September, and I have never bought my airfare this early. I've bought as early as May, and as late as July.

That said, I am contemplating pulling the trigger with buying airfares at $289RT. More than what I want to pay but I can stomach paying that if I had to. I'd be thrilled with $200 rt.

I just booked my Sept flights today with Jet Blue..2 round trip tickets for $438 after tax...I dont normally buy my tickets this early but with the rising price of fuel, I just couldnt risk waiting

I bought airfare for our September trip several weeks ago. I'm glad I did. Prices listed on the SWA website today are $170 higher per ticket than what I paid!

289 is about right.....thats not a steal, but it is a decent rate
