Airfare has went back up!!!!

Checking airfare this morning out of Buffalo. Prices have increased somewhat- yuch!!!!!!!! Still haven't booked our airfare for December. Got to remind myself that I have plenty of time left to do that. Waiting,patiently waiting for August to come and Southwest releases their airfare for December- they have a nonstop to Orlando from Buffalo- awesome.

I know the feeling.. One night I was looking at airfare and was going to buy then but decided to wait till morning just to make sure this was what we were going to do and guess what?? Price went up over $100 total!! I went ahead and bought then and have been watching and it has gone up again.. we leave in a week so I figure it wont go down anyways, but I was so mad that I didnt just buy then..

HI! I checked airfare from buffalo last week, and i was pleasantly surprised by what i found. We aren't flying til the end of oct, but i found rt tix for 139. Of course when i checked today, they are nowhere to be found. We originally wanted to fly with jetblue and their rates aren't out yet...
My question is...do i wait to see if jetblue or southwest rates are lower? I loved flying jet blue, since it was a nonstop...and the price was great last time. I'm just getting a little freaked out since the prices keep going up! What to do???

i'm not sure if it is nonstop from buff...we flew out of roc last year and it was! I assumed it would be but i could be wrong ?
Even if it's not nonstop, we LOVED jetblue....the individual tv's in the back of the seats were wonderful for 3 kids who are afraid of flying!!
we just flew southwest for the first time in feb, and i wasn't really impressed... a bit cramped, and just blah...of course if the price is right...i'd fly again!

I booked 10 days ago for our Christmas trip to MCO from Milwaukee. Checked today just for giggles - THANK GOD WE BOOKED!!!!! Same flight that I booked is $93 more per person now. Time 4 that makes a BIG difference. good luck everybody.

Ugh, sore subject with me. I fly out of the boonies so our choices are really, really limited. And prices are always sky high. It stinks.

Southwest released a statement saying they raised their one way fares by "as much as $10 for a one-way ticket."

I paid $59 each way for July, and now, they don't even have those fares listed at all. The one way internet only fare is now $124. That's a bit more than a $10 increase.

I understand that Southwest may have to raise ticket prices, but honestly, if they're gonna be charging the same amount as Jet Blue or some of the other airlines with better service and more amenities (TV's, assigned seating), they're gonna find themselves in some trouble. I fly SW simply for the cheap fares - That's it. If given thr choice for the same price, I would fly Jet Blue or Song any day of the week.

Boomhauer, I agree prices are the only reason I've ever flown Southwest. On the other hand, I won't consider travel at all if fuel prices continue to rise. I can't imagine paying $3/gal for gasoline on vacation (we always rent a car) I have a nagging feeling this is what's going to happen this summer. So, I think next year I'll stay home and do some home improvements and wait to see when and if prices get more reasonable. Sorry for the rant...
