Airfare from Philly mid- August

I have been trying to get a decent flight from phlly or Atlantic City for 3 days and have had no sucess. does anyone have any idea? I should have booked on Monday when the fares were reasonable I think but I thought the best fares were on Wed so I waited. I am in a quandry. The fares on USair are $500 per person and we still have to fly at 6AM back home. I don't get up that early for work. I have a night owl family. If anyone has any words of wisdom I'd love to hear them.

Have you tried BWI? From where you live it's only around 2 hours, and you might be able to save several hundred per ticket--which to me is worth the drive.

Try AirTran. I'm seeing $217 each RT 8/16 - 8/23.

I agree, try Airtran. I got a flight last month for $151.50 r/t, but I fly out on a Tuesday morning in October & come back a week later. Good luck!

Or try Southeast airlines out of allentown...We are flying them in December...I got a fare of $130..

How about reporting here afterwards on Sanford Airport and the trip from there to WDW as opposed to the MCO to WDW experience? I'm seriously considering using them or NorthEast Air out of ABE next March.

I will definately be reporting on my experience...except that we will be flying into St. Pete because the really cheap airfare wasn't available the dates I needed into Sanford....We are renting a car for the day and driving over....

I just went on Orbitz.com for Aug 14 thru 21 and got a whole list of US Airways direct flights from Phily to Orlando at $207/roundtrip. Do you have a Saturday night stay in your trip? If not, you are going to pay business rates which maybe explains the high rates you are reporting.

If you want to fly out of Atlantic City check Spirit air's wbsite from Friday at Midnight till Sunday at Midnight-that is when the cyber sale fares are posted & flights are at their cheapest.

Thanks everyone here's what we got. Southwest from BWI for 200 PP for the exact dates we were looking for and the times. I think our problem was wanting an afternoon flight out and and evening flight back. I have used BWI several times lately and the trip is quite easy from here down the turnpike it takes us about and hour and a half and it was worth it considering it is about a half hour to philly and the remote parking is another half hour by the time you get picked up and deposited at the airport. Spirit was what I really wanted becuase I like the ACY airport oh well I can't complain I am going to DW.

We are flying out of Philly with US Air in Sept. We also had the same flight in March of this year. Flying midweek we had a fare around $200 both times. I found that if you check US air website directly we found the cheapest fares. Oh, and check several time because they seem to raise and lower there prices several times during the week.
