We're going again in November and prefer AirTrans out of our local airport. I've been looking at their site and they have October fares up already; I thought it was only 6 months out when I booked this past February's trip. How far ahead are they booking now?

When do you book to get the best prices? I'm getting anxious and don't want to miss a deal, however, I've got a few payments left on the most recent trip  and don't want to overload our MC!

Thanks, Lisa

We use Delta. Last year, I booked in June for November and the price never went lower than what I got it for. In years past, I have even waited until Sept. The best way to do it is have in mind what is the usual best price and when you see it, quick book it. I would say you have plenty of time before you start worrying. ;)

Lisa,

Just curious as to how you knew that AirTran's fares were thru October. The drop down menu lets you put in November but when you actually search it comes back and says flights are sold out or unavailable for that time.

Is there an easier way to tell thru what month's they are currently booking reservations.

Thanks

The past few years I've noticed that Air Tran's best fares from Flint, MI to MCO came out in August. December's best fares came out in September. So it seems to be about 3 months in advance. But with fuel prices rising the way they are things may change. Good luck.
