Our family is taking our first trip to WDW from Feb.10-17,2008. Does anyone know when flights from Halifax to Orlando come on sale for this time of year?
Are the parks busy around the time we are going?
Thanks

We have gone the past three years (four trips) with one just about a month back. We are generally there up to and including the first week+ of January and by then the crowds have dropped off drastically. I believe that the crowds are pretty low during your time as well.

As far as flights go my suggestions is (if possible) check them every day.:surfweb: I watch Expedia.ca, Travelocity.ca, West Jet and Air Canada. This past trip we ended up getting a great price by flying with West Jet down and Air Canada back. We had the West Jet portion booked about 2+ months from our trip and then came across a sale one Saturday evening (that lasted about three hours) with Air Canada. You should get yourself familiar with the average rates so when they do offer a good one you know you should jump on it quick. I find if we can get a return total of about $500.00 we are happy.

THe prices were lower back a few years ago but have gradually increased and have not come back down. We have used Delta and Continental as well in the past and found them all pretty good. Delta would be the worst since they constantly change their planes and last year we flew home on a very Old plane that did not make DH very happy. He will not fly with them again.

Bookmark the sites and quickly check them daily-it can save you alot of $$$.

Good Luck!

You should also take a look at some of the US carriers as they can be quite a bit cheaper than any of the Canadian carriers. Plus they tend to have seat sales more frequently than the Canadian airlines.

A good site I've found for checking flight prices is www.kayak.com I usually check it daily till I find the price I want to pay.

Don't forget transatholidays.com where they chartered CanJet planes Feb-Aug this year. We flew with them in May and the direct flight was great, and the prices were ~$500 taxes in. Relatives have flown Continental at that time and have been able to get ~$500 as well. Definitely keep an eye on the rates as they tend to go up and down all the time. If I could get a ticket for about $500 I would grab it!
