Airfare? Does everyone have their or are you waiting?

I don't get the airfare wait for SW...................why would they wait so long and people will book elsewhere, even if the rates are higher, for peace of mind.:cheer2:

For our October 2007 trip, we had our flights booked by the first week of January :thumbsup2

Our trip in May was more spur-of-the-moment, but even then we had our flights booked almost 2 months ahead of time.

Unfortunately those of us up here in Canada don't have the luxury of $79 fares, so when we get a good deal, we have to book it right away.

We purchased our tickets last night. 8/30-9/4 newark to orlando the tickets were going for 150 r/t but when I checked it yesterday it went up to 180 r/t for the four tickets but when I priced it for 3 it was 150 r/t so I purchased 3 at 150 and DH's at 180 we are flying the thursday before labor day weekend and coming home the tuesday after so I did'nt think it would be a good idea to wait any longer while the seats are filling on the flight times we wanted on continental. This is the first time I made our hotel ressie, dining ressies, airline tickets and a car ressie all within 5 days, it's no wonder I'm backed up on the laundry. :lmao: I'm glad that's done! :cool1:

oh bum, waiting to see if some ridiculously low fares comes up for ~~PHL (or BWI) to MCO~~

trying to figure out break even point for us with gas prices going up again (DH doesn't mind driving at all :rolleyes2), meals along the way, no hotel tho, DH just wants to be there . . . (no charge for sanity lost along the way) oh! and return drive expenses as well. . .roughly 1000 miles each way. We can usually drive it in 18-24 hours depending on weather, stops, kids, etc.

flying would be so much easier but $600+ for family of 6 really kind of adds to a trip booked for "free DDP" 3 months ahead of trip budgeted for Jan 2008! oh dear!

anyone get in on those Spirit airline $29 deals?

Hi
I got Air Tran for 99.00 to Orlando and 27.00 coming home in August.(This is from Philly) I couldn't believe the 27.00 price! Now, I'm waiting for SW to see what they have for my December trip. Air Tran is 99.00 right now. If I had waited a little longer, I could've gotten 49.00 to Orlando in August, but I was so excited to get the 27.00 price, so I just booked both ways. Someone posted that the best time to get a good price on airfare is after midnight. I got the 27.00 at around 10:30pm, and the next day it was back up to 99.00. Good luck to everyone!!!:goodvibes

disnut1149...you are so lucky, I can't wait for a better deal to come out for me, airtran doesn't even have the 99 one 1st thing in the morning yet, I wouldn't mind leave @ the crack of dawn for a good deal. Hope a great one comes out of philly for me:-)

Havent booked ours yet due to not having the money right now, but will probably book in the next couple weeks. We are flying with AirTran from BWI (Baltimore, MD). They are the only airline company I fly with now. Our trip is for Dec 6-16th. Leaving on a Thursday and coming back on a Sunday. We are getting $82 tickets roundtrip - non-stop. So for me and DH the total cost including taxes is gonna be $369.60. We are getting pretty good times to. We will be leaving BWI at 9:05am and getting into Orlando at 11:20am and leaving, we will leave Orlando at 8:15am and getting back home at 10:27am. Dont like the fact we have to get up so early, it takes 2 hrs to get to the airport and then we need to be there 2 hrs before our flight takes off. So we need to get up around 5am leaving home and leaving the resort we will need to get up and be out by 5am. Not that it really matters what time Im up the morning we leave for Disney because I can never sleep the night before. Just to excited I guess :rotfl:

for 8/24-9/2 Boston to Orlando we got $89 one way $99 back on Delta. I am a Jetblue fan, but the fares and times weren't as good one their nonstop flights. I like Delta though and we'll be @ WDW by noon :)

Looking for something out of Grand Rapids! We need 4 tickets...cheapest so far is North West @ $260 a ticket. We're debating whether to wait for cheaper tickets or just book now with great times! Ughhhhhh! Decisions, decisions, decisions!

We got ours through Northwest at the end of January. $536 bucks total (fees included) for 4 of us! Thought I got a good deal! My parents still need to book, though. Anyone know of any good flight deals out of Oklahoma City or Dallas?

I am waiting for Jet Blue to release November fares...

We haven't booked for our late Oct trip because we were waiting to see if we could get a nonstop on the way home ( GR, MI) from NWA. The nonstop came out but at $400 a piece and since there is 5 of us, we decided to wait. It is down to $330 so far...We are going to try to wait until June or July...We are seeing that flights booked 4 months out are dropping to $288. I'll just pray that we don't miss our preferred flights.:scared:

We could've waited for SW, but went ahead and booked on USAirways. It was a total of an extra $22 round trip extra, but we can take a cab to the airport, the flight times were perfect, and we have guaranteed seats. That beats getting nervous waiting for a SW ding. We never fly SW, so getting a ding refund after paying for tickets would've been worthless to us.

have the going not the coming am waiting for that and got the going for 39.00 so waiting for philly to orlando to open some seats.

MIL is in charge of airfare. I know she hasn't booked it yet. We don't leave till the end of October. I am hoping when she gets home from NYCtomorrow (if she gets home) she will start looking at airfares.

I got my air for 49.00 one way from Philly to Orland through SouthWest. Flew SouthWest last two times we went to Disney with very little problems.

Hey all you Philly folks, I'm about 25 minutes from Philly in a suburb of DE, so also waiting and watching for anything under $49. . .any hints on days to look/book/etc? I have to book for 6 of us so. . .

Sept. 05 I got $49 each way for all of us (5 then and a lap baby):woohoo: and now I wan teven lower:upsidedow

with gas prices climbing it's looking like it may be best way to go.

blondie x 46 who did you get your $39 with?

disnut 1149 was your $27 late night deal through airtran?

I really don't want to drive. DH really doesn't want to pay a lot for flying:rolleyes:
