Quick question? Can you take this after you become sick? Will it shorten the duration of a cold?

I ask because I am sick which I have been trying very hard not to do because our little princess was born premature and I really really really do not want her to get sick. We have been to the hospital with her 3x already in the 2 1/2 months she has been here:sad1: and we dont wont to go back. I dont know what to do to help myself get rid of this cold faster. I also have a tendency for my colds to develop into pneumonia!! Please help advice anyone??

Airborne is just vitamins, so it can't hurt to take it, and it will probably help.

Thank you thats what I figured. It couldnt hurt. Anybody have any results with this stuff?

There is no evidence that it has any impact on a cold or its duration at all but my DS#1 is absolutely positive that it helps him. If he thinks it does, it does, and that's fine. Maybe it would work for you.

OMG...that is exactly how I feel about...I did HEAR just recently that there are no defining medical info that states that AIRBORNE does anything for preventing or aiding the common cold...but for me, I find it works. BTW: I have to buy AIRBORNE and not any of the drug store knock offs that they now carry.

I don't know about proven medical facts, but I swear by Airborne. I've used it several times over the past winter season, right when that tickle begins at the back of my throat and my body feels off. I completely feel that it prevents cold. I usually take it two or three times a day for the next few days after that initial feeling.

I take it in place of the golden seal/echinacea combo, as it tastes a heck of a lot better!

Hope this helps!

yes, take it! It may shorten the duration of the cold! I work in an elementary school office, with lots of sick kids coming in every day, so I take one Airborne every day. But when I start feeling sluggish or the slightest feeling I have something coming on, I up it to 2 a day!

It's another one of those remedies that Dr.s and the like poo-poo...but I take it and feel it helps, plus as it IS vitamins, how can it hurt? I personally like the pink grapefruit...yum....:goodvibes

The only *issue* with Airborne is that, I believe I heard it contains a LOT of Vitamin A. Too much Vitamin A can be toxic, so this is not something that you want to take all the time. It should be fine for a few days. There were some warnings about about a year ago that it can be harmful to some people depending upon what conditions you have (because some of the vitamin levels are VERY high).

Thanks everyone I have taken it 3x since last night maybe I should slow down on it. Maybe it is wishfull thinking but I dont feel as yucky as I did yesterday. I am just praying our little one doesnt get sick she gets the synagis shot every month for RSV so I hope it works for her and she doesnt get sick.

I also use Airborne whenever I begin to feel something coming on. I really think it does shorten the duration of my colds when I do get one.
