HI ~ :wave2:

School is starting in about 10 days, and I bought Airborne for the first time to give to my kids. I got Airborne Jr for my 8 YO, and the regular for my 10 YO.

I have heard some good things about it but I'd like to know more. Namely, any proof it really works?

Also the directions are kinda vague..it says take it a few days before going to school/being in crowds, etc. But how long are you suppose to take it at one time? Just the 10 days worth thats in the tube, or are you suppose to keep taking it? I wonder how long it is effective once you've taken the 10 day supply?
Also could I just get the regular airborne for both kids or would it be too strong for my 8 YO? He weights probably 70-75 pounds.

Lastly, our trip is Sept 30th..I don't want them to get  right before our trip.

Any help or advise on taking this & experiences on success using it would be great! Thanks I'm all :listen:

I travel internationally for business about 3 times a year. I used to always get the sniffles after being on the planes for 19+ hours but once I started to take airborn that has not been an issue. I take it at home everytime I start to feel that tell tale itch in my throat and I can attest to the fact that it does lessen the length/severity of my cold. Last year, DH and DS both had a terrible stomach virus. I started taking it as often as I could and never came down with the virus. It also has ginger in it so it's great if you start to feel queasy (sp?).
I have never given it to my son though. He's only 3 and I don't like giving him anything unless his doctor suggests it. I have tried the cheaper versions at Walmart and BJ's. The orange flavored of the generic Airborn does not taste the same at all. HTH! :bitelip:

We're travelling to China in a couple of months. How many days before you leave do you start the Airborn?

I began taking mine about 4 days before our trip to Disney because my throat was feeling kinda funny, well within a day it quit. DH woke up the first morning there and his throat was hurting pretty bad and he took one and by that night the pain was gone and he never had another issue with it. So I say it does work.

Thanks for the replies so far! So it isn't meant to be taken continously?

Anyone out there who can answer more of my above questions? Thanks again!

My dh tells us not to take it more than 10 days in a row because of the echinacea.

I teach nursery school and started taking it last year in September. I took one every morning, the entire school year and I never got sick. There was some pretty nasty stuff going around too, but I never got any of it! I swear by the stuff now and have started stocking up for the school year (I haven't been taking it all summer).

I usually get at least two horrific colds a year with flu like symptoms. Each time I have felt anything coming on, I would have a couple of cups of the Airborne in a day. The last time I didn't get to it in time, I did get the cold but I drank the Airborne and instead of having this lingering thing like I usually do, I was back to myself in 3 days and never really got sick, just the sniffles. I have also tried the Walgreen's brand and it was just as good.
I don't know what makes it work but I only take it when I feel something coming on.

It would be harder with children to give when needed because they are less likely to stop their busy days to tell you they have a tickle in their throat. :)

Thanks to everyone ~~ I guess I will just give them the 10 days worth..then wait to give them more 10 days before our trip. Thanks!
