Hi

DH is wanting to go on an airboat tour whilst we are there this year. Does anyone have a favourite one? Also I'm worried my DS (2) might be a bit young
what advice can you disers give me? !!

Difficult to advise on best unless you have done 2 or 3 different ones, we haven't. Both time been with this one and would again.

Voucher here will get you a free child place http://www.bcairboats.com/magicard.shtml
I used it no problem last month, I think it will work out at $55 (£35) for all 4 of you.
Link to Magicard if there are anymore vouchers you might use http://www.visitorlando.com/discoun...gicard-orlando-discount-card/?source=magicard

I looked in FAQ's for ages

How old do you have to be to ride on the tours?

All ages are welcome on all tours. We do not have a minimum age or height requirement for our tours. A child under 2 can sit on your lap or ride beside you. They usually enjoy the ride, but some have a problem with the noise and/or wearing a life vest which is required for children under 6.

We did the boggy creek one with DD aged 22 months and she was fine.

They have little ear muffs for the kids (think she had a lifejacket aswell) and she sat between us.

We are going to go again in October.

The other one I have heard of is spirit of the swamp - smaller boats but dearer.

We'd done one before in the everglades and enjoyed boggy creek as much as that.

Thanks for comments, and thanks wayne for the magivouchers, I've had a look at them and we will definitly use some more of those vouchers. With us going for an extended holiday we thought we'd do Gatorland and maybe some on International drive, maybe Ripleys, have you been or anybody been there?
We were also thinking of doing Kennedy space centre.

Are there any other different attractions that anyone would recommend?

I have never fancied Gatorland, seen them at the side of the road(out at KSC) in a lake next to our hotel(Best Western Lakeside) at Boggy Creek, thats enough for me so Gatorland doesn't appeal.

KSC been a few times, had annual passes one year even Karen enjoys it, she never thought she would. Others don't enjoy at all, its one you have to try yourself to know.

Ripley's, did a few years back, worth a look, do you believe or not? Matt has got the yearly annual every Xmas since we went. No idea on price now, I think we got a free child just paid for 2 of us.

Did you see my thread from last months trip? we went to do things a bit further afield rather than the theme parks. St Augustine is about 2 hour drive north but well worth a visit. We really enjoy spending the afternoon at Port Canaveral with live music, a couple of drinks and wave the 3 cruise ships off (they leave from about 4:30pm) also had a really nice meal at http://www.grillsseafood.com/menu.php
Clearwater is great for a day about 90 mins away, Little toot Dolphin boat($3pp voucher on their website) & pirate ship goes from there.

Winter Summerland golf is good for an hour/90mins.

We like an evening at Old Town on HWY192 they have car parades 2 nights a week, bike night another http://www.old-town.com/

Celebration Town is good to have a wander around, few nice places to eat there.

Hope there is something amongst that lot for you.:goodvibes

Hi Wayne

Thanks for these, we are staying at Clearwater for the first week, we really like Busch Gardens and want to spend a couple of days exploring there instead of the usual 1 day trip we have taken in the past, so we will look at the dolphin tour and pirate ship whilst there. From Clearwater we are going to Coco Keys resort for 1 week and thought we'd make the most of international drive, sea world and Universal whilst staying there. We then go to Disney Saratoga Springs for 3 weeks then up to Daytona so thought we'd do Kennedy space centre whilst up there, then for the last week (the only week we havent booked anywhere!!!!) we thought we'd head back down to Clearwater or St Petes.

We've never done Celebration but might visit this time, we have done Old town my DH loves the bike night so will probably be doing that, is it still on a Thursday?

We once stayed at Clearwater for a week, didn't enjoy it at all. Since been back for a couple of day trips and enjoyed, its not our sort of place for a holiday but it is for others.

Busch is my fave park in Florida, we have Annual passes, will be going down again in August. I just saw Magicard have added new coupons, one is for a free dessert at the Zambia Smokehouse where we eat lunch http://www.visitorlando.com/includes/coupons/?action=details&couponID=18

Daytona to KSC is exactly the same (60 miles or just over 1 hour drive) as Disney to KSC. Makes no difference which you visit from.

I believe the bike night is still on a Thursday.

I saw the free dessert on magicard and was going to ask where is the best place to eat at BG. We've only been once and can't wait to go back but the day was so rushed and I can't even remember eating there although we must have done!!! DD was only 3 when we went so I doubt whether she'll remember much about it. I was wondering about a full week at Clearwater but just think if we are bored we'll drive to BG!! I think that is why we have left the last week clear in case we don't like it and decide to just stay elswhere. We will be getting the orlando flexiticket and use for BG then 2nd week at International drive, unless of course anyone knows of a better ticket deal!!

after looking at the updated ticket prices I think we would be better getting the universal tickets 2 park, we are staying at Coco Keys water park hotel so will not be bothered about wet n wild. And the 3 park SW/BG/aquatica tickets. This works out cheaper and this way we can use the BG one first then the US after.

I was just going to post, for most people the 2 seperate tickets work out better value just now.

Food at Busch we usually eat at Zambia Smokehouse (I usually have the combo, Ribs, Chick & Brisket around $15)but last year ate at the newly opened buffet, nothing spectacular but OK for lunch.
