Wheres the nearest place to Orlando for airboat rides? we are visiting Orlando for 3 weeks in Ocotber and have decided we would really like to do this, however we only really want to travel an hour at the most - we had planned on visiting the everglades but it seems thats alot further away than we thought, someone mentioned to me on another board that theres a place north of Orlando (about an hours drive) but did'nt really explain much more after this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Nice one lesley, i had heard of Boggy Creek but did'nt know too much about the place itself - cheers for the link.

we went to boggy creek in august 03, it was great, not very expensive, although can't remember how much! we were out for about 40 mins, really great change from the theme parks, great scenery, saw baby aligator and lots of birds, really knowledable and friendly guides, would recommend it, only half a day but worth it all the same , you feel like you see a different side of florida :flower:

There is a place north of Orlando on the St John's River near a place called Christmas. WE have been on the airboat rides with a man called Captain John. He has a website but I cannot remember it. If you do a google search for Captain John and Florida it comes up. He is also in a lot of the coupon books you can pick up. The rides we have been on with him were amazing and we saw so much wildlife and had an awesome ride.
