Has anyone ever flew this airline? I am looking at tickets from Memphis to Orlando w/ a layover in Atlanta. Right now they are $97 one way. Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts on this company were.
We've flown on AirTran a number of times. They're a low-cost carrier out of Atlanta, so don't expect a lot of frills.
They were the launch airline for the new Boeing 717s and have been replacing their older DC-9s and 737-200s with the 717s over the past few years. The newer planes are also very comfortable and quieter than older planes.
There have been other threads in the past. Try a search on this board for "AirTran" (all one word) if you want to find other comments.
We flew Airtran in Feb. 2003, from Pit to MCO. It's only a 2 hour flight, so it wasn't bad. It is a no frills airline, so for a short flight it's OK. I don't have any complaints.
