Flew with them in Aug. very similar to Southwest except we had assigned seat numbers. The seat pockets had crumbs/ empty pakages in them. There turn around time was maybe 45 min. so not much time to clean the plane. We where late leaving Buffalo ( not Air Trans fault) but we made up the time and arrived on time.

P.S. There is no movie only radio and only a tiny ack of pretzels for a snack
Never flown Air Tran, but have been looking at the SW posts on the transportation boards , and some think that the prices will go down, that SW posts higher prices at first, people book as they are worried that they won't get their air booked, and then the prices go down, which encourages people to re-book at the new price and have a credit with SW. This perpetuates another booking at some point with SW as the credit has to be used up
It is some posters opinion that the DINGS for May will come up again at end of March, beginning of April for May bookings
I had been watching for the cost of SW flights for May 17-21 and had to work the day the new schedule came out (there were some at $59 each way) but by the time I looked the next day, the costs had gone up to $109-$159 I am going to wait and see.
Hope this helps, you may want to secure a flight on Air Tran anyway
Last week, the fares I wanted were $270 USD total. Now, they are $590 USD!!! I can believe it, 'cause I work in travel, but has anyone else had this happen to them?
My dates are May 20-23. I am hoping they didn't just go up 'cause of the holiday.
We use Airtran at least 8 or 9 times a year. They don't spend a lot of time cleaning the plane between trips, but they have good service, they've been reliable (so far) and they have those nifty headphone jacks so you can listen to one of many radio stations as you fly. And their prices are usually very good.
The main drawback is not being able to assign your seats until 24 hours prior to travel. Other than that, they're terrific!
Just got back from MCO on Monday and we flew Air Tran, and the flight was really good. It was nice having assigned seats and not having to worry about not sitting with my kids.
The best part was checking in at the resort and not taking all the luggage to the airport to check in there. Will use Air Tran next time we head to the States, and flying from Buffalo is so much nicer than flying from Toronto.
