Air Tran

Has anyone used this airline lately? Are they dependable? Looking for a low fare to MCO and they have a great rate at the present time. Your comments would be most appreciated.

I have heard that they tend to cancel or reschedule flights, however, it did not stop me from purchasing $127 RT from DC! I've never used them before but the rate was too good to pass up! Our trip isn't until August, so we'll see what happens before then.

If you do a search here on the transportation board you will find this has been discussed several times lately. No one seems to have had problems with them.

Put simply, AirTran is a very good airline with newer planes and great employees. However, they do have this annoying habit of constantly tinkering with their schedules. We always take the first flight out...they normally only move it by a few minutes either way. During the day they sometimes make drastic changes to flight times and sometimes cancel flights altogether. After you book keep an eye on their on-line schedules. They will notify you of changes, but the e-mail comes way after they have already changed the schedule.

Pit/MCO been dropped to 1 NS each day.

Flight times have been moved by 11 hours w/o notice.

Yet, I still fly them, need to use up my reward vouchers.

Let's put it this way -- There were only two airlines which made a profit last year -- SW & Airtran. They're a good airline with Boeing 717 & 737 aircraft... You'll do fine.
