Air tran time change and booking question.

We booked our vacation through the Disney reservation service, airlines and all. I just found out today that Airtran changed our flight time by 30 minutes. Is there anyway for us to get a flight change because of this. I would like to move our departure to the next day. Also, who do I contact, Disney or Air tran directly?

I don't know Airtran's policy but you should not make a fuss over 30 minutes.

Yes I have read here on The DIS question about will I make it in time to my ADR*. In that case if the 30 minutes is later making things tighther, feel free to hand pick and ask for a flight earlier the originally scheduled time.

A typical threshold is 1-1/2 hours.

Or if they add a plane change or a stop, you can hand pick another nonstop and ask to be switched to that. (Adding a plane change rarely causes a difference less than an hour. Having to leave 30 minutes earlier and arriving 30 minutes later is a one hour change.)

Did Disney give you a six letter/number confirmation. If they did, call AirTran and talk with them. You can change your flight time for that day, but if you wan to change it to the next day, they have a $75 change fee for each person.

We didn't book through Disney, so I don't know about that part of it.

However, our Thanksgiving Day flight was moved by 2 hours so that we wouldn't get to MCO until 10 pm. That time is late for DD7 with a CRT ressie at 8:05 the next morning.

I called Air Tran and was moved to Wednesday's flight at no charge.

Actually, Airtran has a very liberal change policy if they make changes to the flight schedule. They offer changes to other flights that day, flights a day on either side of the original departure day, and even alternate airports. People need to call and ask. Airtran has shown very good customer service when it comes to schedule changes.

Exactly. I know the OP no longer needs to change flights to the next day but Airtran likely WOULD have allowed that. It's one of the main reasons I try to fly Airtran exclusively- they are very very flexible and have great customer service.
